I've got an even better idea, just eliminate all county jobs. I'm not a county employee, so it won't matter to me. But I'll save major bucks on my taxes. Just imagine how much we can save in taxes if the County had no employees.

keep hwy

give up transportation of prisoners

give up unit that takes prisoners to doctor appts.

this leaves them with dvu, civil, 1dc, hwy, parks....

If Levey doesnt run for govenor he will appt demarco the commish and merge everyone. complete consolidation.... parks, pd, deps. all budgets merged and complete control of county.

An important point, the Sheriffs office is financed by everyone in the county. Not just the police district. Sunrise and 495 are critically important to the county in many ways but most of all economically. It is only right that every county resident fund those patrols. Not just people in the police district. Because of this, there is even a bigger savings for people in the police district.

Ok jackass the problem is we only have 270(?) bodies and we were about 70 bodies short prior to getting highway, now we are about 120 short. Hire more deps, give us the training, and the salary then come talk. Wont happen, and we dont want it.

Suffolk PD is currently losing there pistol licensing. The problem is that they are so rude when dealing with the public that it's time to pay for it. Back to patrol for all the fat a$$ in there. Half will most likely retire or quit.
