Heard nothing but praise for the way the job was handled. I hear nothing but good comments about Nesconset throughout the county anyway so not surprising. Keep up the excellent work.

As someone had said in one of the post lets not forget 4-2-0, The three dispatchers that were working did a great job. Hats off to you guys and to all responding departments.

Just to be completly fair to everyone.. It was 3 dispatchers and a paid EMT- then.
Total of 4 dispatchers since one swapped out halfway though..
Nevertheless a great job was done by all on the radios phones and on the scene.

WELL WELL WELL I was wondering how long it would take for the candy ass whiners to start their BULLSHIT on here... I must say it was longer than I thought it would be.
APPARENTLY you aren't familiar with MCI's. Charter bus with lots of people on it..... van with lots of people on it...... you need the resources to help the people.
NFD YOU GUYS DID THE RIGHT THING.. don't give this clown a second thought.

Im sorry did I miss something ???? I didnt know the CHARTER BUS HAD LOTS OF PEOPLE ON IT !!!! Excuse me for being a horses ass .... NOT !!! The Freaking bus was EMPTY except for the BUS DRIVER, thats it ! it wasn't loaded with people like you say.
APPARENTLY you are not familiar with Basic Firefighting 101 .... Before you yell out MCI, someone should have done a proper SIZE-UP and you would have found that the charter bus was empty !!!
No one has a problem calling in the resourses to as you put it to "Help the People" as long as it's justified, Watching 15 ambulances just sitting around because someone assumed the bus was full of people .... thats a problem !

Being a Monday morning quarter back is the EASIEST job in the world. In fact that even makes you shine.... some decisions were made at the time LET IT GO!! ANYONE can second guess everyone. I'm sure YOU would have done it differently and of course in the PERFECT way.
Stop second guessing everyones moves. Instead of calling it a learning experience, right away you have to find fault. Grow up.

One of the laws of EMS and medicine in general:
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Great job done by all. So what if there were too many ambulances? Unfortunetly when the call comes in the caller does not always have all of the information. If you hear a minivan versus coach bus, prepare for the worst. This is the basis of disaster medicine. If I remember right it was a sector car that was first on the scene and started screaming for ambulances (this is not meant to put down the officer). Once you've got them coming, keep them until you're done in case something happens. You also have a good number of extra hands to do things such as triage, help package and load, among other things. A scene like this is much different than a simple medical call. There are many other jobs that need to be done besides direct patient care.
Nice job trying to take away from a great job and a good thread. Go troll elsewhere.

This is the kind of thread we should see more of. I don't know anything about the incident, but it sounds like it was a homerun for everyone involved. Hats off.
