A quick question, does anyone feel that the credibility of this forum would increase if the moderators more closely monitered the posts?
What if posts were edited/removed to increase the proffesionalism?
There seems to be an incredible annount of useless/slanderous comments which does the fire service no good.

Your in the wrong place if you are looking for a shred of intelligence. Look at the bright side, the morons are behind the computer and not getting your
back in a fire. Just read for comic relief. The world would be boring w/o
idiots. Who would make us laugh?

Very true
Well said
But, a forum such as this could be a benefit to us if managed differently.
We could certainly use the help of a smartly used forum
It is ammusing at times though

If there were any moderators and registration was forced and confirmed... and moderators deleted the war threads and immature content.. then i believe this could be a fine place for discussion.. but its not. Its a board that nobody monitors and nobody cares about, which is why its a joke... people dont come here for any real info, they come here to cry and bitch and moan and what not, like i said, its a joke

Start your own board. This is good comic relief.

Should this be like the NassauRant where all the buff posts that slmost disagree with Cops / ESU are deleted by the ex-vollie/esu cop who knows everthing about everything & posts horse photos when he knows he's wrong......again?? Censorship is sooooooo Democratic

I find that board much more usefull with regards to issues that truly matter and this board a place where almost all the content is meaningless

We can't we all get along?
Is it because a board such as this allows individuals to hide behind their computer as they enter puberty?

Too bad nobody on this board is a "verified" member. I would estimate that about 70 percent of the posting membership on this board would have been suspended my most competant chiefs.
It is so easy to remain annonomous and post all those things you would never say to someones face.
Does anyone agree?

I think there are purposes for anonymous boards like this as well as others where you must register. Surely anonymity breeds immature, vulgar and senseless posts (which BTW provide excellent comedy) but it also allows legitimate exploration of ideas that some would not feel comfortable to post as their own. There ARE some posts like that here albeit they are the minority. You generally won't find someone posting a question about the safety of their organizations procedures or lack their of, on a board where their identity is easily known. Some of those things are legitimate ways of "testing the waters" to see if there is a better way to do business. And before someone suggests it - no, for obvious reasons these would be sensitive issues that you would not bring up on the floor of a meeting. Sometimes you find great ideas, other times you find that most places are doing the same things you may be questioning. Think of this site as an informal FD kitchen table or tailgate where (depending on audience) you'll ask whatever questions you want and speak your mind.

What a useless forum this board is.
How do many of the members have the time to put out so many posts?
Perhaps they should either get out of mommy and daddy's house, get a job and become a useful individual.
Incredible waste of time.
PS;
There are some ass's that need to be kicked based on their posting's
