They have plenty of ladder trucks, they have no use for us Volunteers, just read some of the crap they post about us here.

It is a tough loss, he appeared to be a devout family man, you hate to see that happen to anyone.

Schmucks on both sides. And many on both sides as well who have a mutual respect for one another.

Obviously some posters here are schmucks. Scroll up. 'Nuff said.

I work in the city and volunteer in Suffolk...not ALL city guys "hate" the volunteers. Some have union agendas, misguided anger, don't understand exactly how LI works, or just have a strong opinion about a paid force and have nothing personal against volunteers...just from a professional standpoint. Bad apples on both sides and no place in this world and job for stupid comments. Be safe brothers.

why would a chief need to post on here to get ladders. All he has to do is make a few calls, call a coodinator. Stop the bs, and let this hero rest in peace.

This hero was a friend of mine. was a great guy who deserved the send off he got. Special thanks to all the departments from Suffolk who sent ladders to set up arches, also to the FD's that sent their buses to help transport the family/friends/FDNY members to the cemetery. FDNY Ladder 111 ('s company) led the procession.

BTW......in addition to being a member of the FDNY, he was also a volunteer back in the late 80's for the Elmont FD, along with his brother who is an Ex-Chief.
