So, here we are with another conference out of state. I wonder how many departments from Nassau and Suffolk County have laughed in the face of the State Attorney General's office by disregarding the rules and have sent 3-4 Chiefs, 4-5 Commissioners, and God knows how many Captains, Lieutenants, firefighters and their wives/significant others at taxpayer expense in defiance of the law in the name of "training and education"?
I think another picture of a bloated ex-Chief in a hot tub needs to make its way to the front page of Newsday.
Where's Liz Moore when we need her?

another dickhead

Do you have proof of any misappropriations, or misuse of funds to send these people there. My department sent all the required paperwork to the state for their approval. You forgot to mention that in your bullshit rant. I think what you really meant to say was,

" I am a member of my department who is nothing more then a coat rack. I was not picked to go, because I do not respond, I don't carry my weight, and I am a waste of departmental tax funded money. I put this rant on this rag site to show how jeolous I am of not being able to abuse the system and get a free vacation. I will now stop psting as my mother has called me for dinner."

SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY.

Baltimore is just about as close as Lake George or Syracuse, Rochester, and closer than Buffalo. To use some common sense you can't send someone driving 5 hours to Baltimore but you can send them to a conference in Buffalo with an 8 hour distance?? Were you the one left out of the conference this year and are writing from your sandbox?

Liz and her crew are down here now, saw them this am at the opening ceremonies. She is keeping track of which LI FD's are here, how many attended seminars, how many members and wifes attended, what hotels and restaurants are they eating at, and who is drinking all nite long at the Baja and Power Station!

I drove on my own gas in my own car, paid for my hotel and conference/class fees myself, and if I want something to eat or drink, I'm paying for that too. I hope Newsday puts a big picture of me on the front page so I can show up with my receipts and lawsuit paperwork.

Baltimore (pronounced /bɒltɨmɔr/) is an independent city and the largest city in the state of Maryland in the United States. Baltimore is located in central Maryland on the western coast of the Chesapeake Bay and is approximately 40 miles (64 km) north of Washington D.C.. Founded in 1729, Baltimore is a major U.S. seaport and is situated closer to major Midwestern markets than any other major seaport on the East Coast. Baltimore's Inner Harbor has always remained a major asset, once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center. Today the harbor is home to Harborplace and the National Aquarium in Baltimore and is a successful example of Baltimore's ambitious efforts at renewal. Following the fall of many of its largest manufacturing industries, Baltimore has shifted primarily to a service sector-oriented economy, with the largest employer no longer Bethlehem Steel but Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Despite some successful revitalization Baltimore is still posed with many big-city challenges such as concentrated poverty and crime, and inadequate public education.

As of 2007, the population of Baltimore City was 637,455.[11] The Baltimore Metropolitan Area, which includes the city's surrounding suburbs, has approximately 2.6 million residents; the 20th largest in the country. Baltimore is also the largest city in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area of approximately 8.1 million residents. Because there is also a Baltimore County surrounding (but not including) the city, it is sometimes referred to as Baltimore City when a clear distinction is desired.

The city is named for the founding proprietor of the Maryland Colony, Lord Baltimore in the Irish House of Lords. Baltimore himself took his title from a place named Baltimore in Ireland, which is an Anglicized form of the Irish language Baile an Tí Mhóir,[12] meaning "Town of the Big House" and referring to the O'Driscoll castle that still dominates the town. The Irish-language name for Baltimore is that of the O'Driscoll castle, Dún na Séad ("Fort of the Jewels").

I think it's a complete disgrace that you associate the names of the 343 who gave their lives on 9/11 in the same bullshit thread as this. You associate these people, who gave their lives, with all the cunty bullshit that gets talked about on this thread.

Our department sent one commissoner, one chief and 6 firefighters, I hear the highlight was the Orioles game, the Commissoner brought his wife, and is the same commissioner who has now attended three conferences, has another scheduled yet refuses to attend Dept functions like open house, picinic, department meetings, money mania and didnt even have the decency to go to the fallen firefighters memorial for one their own fallen firefighters something alot of members took notice and are furious about, he is alieniating the membership with his attitude, kind of like the guy he replaced and oh yeah he went and ordered a chiefs vehicle NOBODY wanted..and we have four more years of this jerkoff
