A Drunk left University Hospital, onto Nicolls Road and was struck and dragged by a car. BUT ignorant one, thats not the case here anyway. NO ONE was drunk. The pedestrian was in the lane of traffic, at night, wearing all dark clothing. Accidents DO happen!

I have received a dozen phone calls today from people who couldn't believe this was true and were relieved when they were told the truth.

JOEY D WAS NOT DWI!!! It was an unfourtunate accident perpetuated by a young boy who probably shouldn't have been on Nichols Road on his bike at 1030 at night in dark clothes and riding in traffic. God bless him in a speedy recovery and my prayes are with his family.

It's easy... what probably happened is the city doctors examined him and said he is unfit for duty and gave him 3/4. This is obvious. Setauket probably has other classifications like we do in my dept, other than 'interior FF' so he is probably fit for that. The FDNY does not have such other classifications. Maybe Setauket has an exterior FF/chauffeur-like status. Either way, Setauket's doctors cleared him for some 'support' function and that is also the right call. He's a knowledgeable asset to the department and the FD is his life. I'm glad he's still active. And i think JD knows what hes doing and would be smart enough to not jeopardize himself or his status with the city. Leave it alone. Want to dig more? Because in this case the FF you so wrongfully attacked in print is a bonefide F-CKING HERO in the FDNY who was nearly killed in the line of duty a few years back. He intended and wanted to remain on the FDNY and was told NO! They retired him, he didn't retire. This is a familiar story for many FF and yes some Cops too.

But see, you wouldn't know that because you are probably still sitting in Mommie's basement waiting to win the Lotto so you can buy a car and move out on your own. A little keyboard gangster, sitting there writing ridiculous posts about real men you secretly admire but feel jealous and compelled to write about on this site.

Here's some advice skippy - take it or leave it -
1. Do something nice for someone else besides yourself today. (trust me it will make you feel good inside).
2. Stop trying to embarrass, hurt or otherwise impune the reputation of real men who have ten lifetimes of real life experience that you will never have.
3. Find a hobby that keeps you busy and doesn't involve writing hurtful and erroneous comments about people who are just trying to get by in this big thing we call life.
4. If you need an outlet, try the porn sites - they allow for more physical activity than you might be used to but at least your entire hand will get a workout instead of just your index fingers.

If you knew anything about the Setauket FD Sta 3 more than half the members don't drink, myself included. I addition while we do in house duty crews and commit to protecting the lives and property of the community no one drinks. Two. Setauket FD has an Exterior classification as members discussed before but you should probably stick to fire police or even better the ladies auxilary. I will never understand this board and why people sit here and air their dirty laundry make yourselves look like fools and disgracing the fire service in front of the entire community.
