To two year wonders, six months book learning, three months total buff show attendance, one trip to FDIC OPS and bang, your are the two year wonder, gonna change the world but not enough common sensce to hook up a hydrant or throw a ground ladder on the beam while they f_ck with there surrender bucket's outriggers in a cluster f_ck. Can't break out a line most dont know or even carry the nozzles anymore, only think a Wye is for the track, have to carry two saws with different blades because they can't figure it out when they get there and the "maintenance man" isn't there to change it out for them... Oh I need my "morning pride" I need my belts, my harness. My buff lights, my helmet cam. Not for nothing, we had a few tubbys in the day, but have you seen the average size of most of these kids now?
The Cheetos fire brigade, be sure to bring your books to the scene for reference. We used to have to memorize them...
Geez, what a bunch.....

The fire captain in our place that is supposed to be the smartest EMS guy also is not... He could not pass his boards to be a Physicians Assistant... he took them 3 times and failed all three times... now he drives a bus for North Shore..... In any event he went to the scene of an auto accident where the guy had a heart attack and crashed... he got to the scnene and acting as an AMT he pronounced the guy at the scene... Well when NCPD showed up their medic said this guy is not dead and revived the elderly man....you've gotta love our know it alls.....

I think I know the call you are talking about and the situation, and I hate to say, but because I was there in another capacity (NOT the fire department) the person you are talking about- did not pronounce anybody on scene. In fact, I was on scene with the Nassau County AMT before the FD arrived and the patient was being put in the nassau ambulance before the above referenced person even showed up on scene. Then this person and another EMS person from the same department got into the county ambulance at the county amt's request. And from what I heard from the county AMT ( I speak to him quite often) they were very helpful in the bus, and basically ran the code together. And also to clarify- the person who you claimed was saved was dead the whole time and never even made it past the trauma room ( I was at the hospital after the ambulance dropped him off). Unfortunately it seems you and others on this board have personal grudges against people and the best way to solve that would be to talk the person you have a problem with...Not make up stories and go on ranting about complete nonsense on a website....
because of my working relationship with the department that you are referencing and my working relationship with many of their ems people...i felt the need to correct some facts and set the record straight....
It makes me laugh that the first time I read this site...there is something that I actually was witness to and the facts are not even near correct.
First and Last time Ill ever read this ridiculous website.

Calling Doc Charlie Need Tape For A Broken Nose.?
some people could care less about the responsibilities they assume when they take a position of leadership and power. Some people love the power, and the responsibility that goes with that power. Other people have soo much egos, that they thrive on letting everyone know who and what there position is
Just remember that you can and probably will be voted out of your position in December. Enjoy the car, the white hat, the power but one thing you will NEVER< EVER get is RESPECT.
by the way, what type of ems responder puts tape on a broken nose. Was there any consideration for a possible head trauma?

Fire Capt up north is a wreck.... Thinks he knows much more than he does as proven by daddy paying for a PA class he could not pass. How much do PA's make & this genius is driving a blue ambulance for $18/ hr. NICE.

I apoligize to those who read this garbage on this site. I was a little rushed with my first post. I only quoted that previous post because I did not realize I could open a new quote in itself. As a member of the fire police for over 10 years, and a member in good standing in my department for 29, I figured I would express my feelings. Why would anyone want to assume a leadership role again, when they did 8 years as a chief already. The respect does not gain steam, as the negitives will always be there. I rode the bus for over 10 years, and even though I tried my hardest, and gave 100 %, I am sure my actions were not always perfect. Wanna make a difference, then sign up and ride a weekly detail. I surf this site and all I see are cry babies needing some attention. Go find a stray animal and make it your bubby. Let those of us who joined because we wanted to make, and still care to go the extra mile. For all of you that are here for whatever reason., try the elks club, they have a better bar and buffet.

With a history going back thousands of years, this unique Gaelic tradition has survived much of the turmoil of Irish history. Long ago, Irish leaders had titles like any other royalty in Europe, what makes a Chief different is the fact that his power was not about a feudal hold on land, it was about his position within his clan. Even through the Elizabethan times, the position of Chief of the Name was more important to some Irish leaders than English titles. There are a number of instances (1) where Norman lords of the time, like FitzGerald, took to using the Gaelic style of "The" or "Mór" to indicate that the individual was the primary person of his family in Ireland.
The downfall of the Gaelic order in the early 1600s led to a decline of the power of the Chiefs. Plantation efforts, the Wars of Cromwell and King James, meant that by the end of the 17th century, most of the Chiefships of the Name were living out of Ireland, lost, or reduced to poverty.
Thereafter the former kings or chiefs passed their titles down by primogeniture, whereas the usual practise in the Middle Ages was to elect a chief from a group of cousins known as a derbfine. Their lineages were usually recorded by the Herald's Office in Dublin Castle. The Irish nationalist and republican movements that developed after 1850 often harked back emotively to the chiefs' losses, but without suggesting that they be reinstated. The Irish Free State founded in 1922 gave no special recognition, but in 1948 the government suggested that there should be a "Council" of chiefs, accredited by the Herald, for emotive reasons. In Irish and English law a title is a possession, classed as an "incorporeal hereditament", but the 1937 Irish Constitution forbids the use of titles without permission of the government. Therefore the Council was also a means of allowing them to use their titles, but only as honorifics and without any political function.
Until 2003 an Irish "Chief of the Name" was a person recognised by the Chief Herald of Ireland as the most senior known male descendant of the last inaugurated or de facto chief of that name in power in Gaelic Ireland at or before the end of the sixteenth century (See Irish nobility). The practice was discontinued in that year due to the "MacCarthy Mór" situation.

Any chiefs out there who are AMT's or Medics who no longer do ALS /// figuring that the NYS rules about abandonment & nonfeasance & all no longer apply once they won the popularity contest/election -- on scene of cardiac-type calls yet let the bus transport BLS only..............
Like that would never happen.
