Al Gore has been all over the TV and he has been very impressive. He was relaxed, unscripted and he seemed to speak from the heart. The pollsters and consultants did not first review every word he spoke. Where was this Al Gore two years ago?
He has taken some bold positions. He opposes the war with Iraq and has called for
universal health care.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp But many writers have been critical of him. They say this new Al Gore is a façade like his different personalities during the 2002 debates. They say this new style is just another political calculation. Is Al Gore for real or are the commentators correct?

Remember when Al Gore made that comment that was something like "I took the initiative in inventing the internet"? How can you hear that quote and NOT think Al Gore is a liar?

first off I am not a supporter of Al Gore and I thank the Lord above he is not in office right now. I am a Republican and I can't stand most liberal views. But in defense of the truth as I was told by a Conservative professor at college last year. Al Gore did play a big help in getting funds and helping along the internet. But I wouldn't be dumb enough to make such a claim.

He already explained about that. He had been up all night doing numerous interviews. What he meant to say was about how he had contributed to the internet. I suppose no one else has ever made a slip up in thr speech because of bng over tired? Give me a break.
I think Al Gore is a great man. Certainly better than Bush. But then who isnt?

Al Gore? HAHA lady you have to be kidding me. It is people like you that scare me. If Gore were in office we as a country would be screwed. Our military would have no funding and we sure as hell wouldn't have done anything about the terrorist attacks. Which in turn would envoke another attack. Don't be upset at President Bush because he actually has the balls that a President should have. It is about time we have one! But you are a female liberal. Two things that confuse me. ****last two sentences were humor****

Proudly serving under an awsome President.

Miss Information/misinformation: You're only making yourself look bad - not anyone else.

Ladies and gentlemen: The above is an example of a far leftist. Glad I'm on the right.

Since you still don't have your own user name, I have the perfect name for you to use. It is "pusillanimous."

I quote "If Gore were in office we as a country would be screwed. Our military would have no funding and we sure as hell wouldn't have done anything about the terrorist attacks. Which in turn would envoke another attack"

Thats just a big load of crap. Anybody with a heart would have retaliated to the 9/11 attacks, Al gore would have mounted a campaign against terrorists as well, but probably wouldn't have imprisoned and interrogated people because of thr ethnic background. Its also funny that you mention evoking another terrorist attack...what the hell do you think a full fledged war on Iraq will do? hmmmm maybe...EVOKE MORE DAMN ATTACKS!!

As for the military budget - It could stand to lose a few million dollars - a military mentality is not a peaceful one, no matter what you say. If we don't change the way we operate we will forever be doomed to repeat the cycle.

Just a thought

You write:"As for the military budget - It could stand to lose a few million dollars - a military mentality is not a peaceful one, no matter what you say. If we don't change the way we operate we will forever be doomed to repeat the cycle."

Does this statement go for Israel also? Because, we could start right there, with a country that costs the American taxpayers 3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR EVERY YEAR SINCE THE 1970'S!

Just a thought:

I actually totally agree with you there. I am in support of yanking thr aid until they stop thr human rights violations and such. I read your thread about that and it is a definite valid point. But you have to admit that out military budget is also disproportionately huge compared to any other portion. (except Israeli aid)

Who would have thought 10 or 15 years ago Al Gore would be galvanizing support for a former governor of the most liberal state of 600,000 people.Vermont. All the peacenicks/hypocrits, Bush Bashers, Republican bashers, suv bashers, firearms bashers, white middle class bashers, Black and Latino middle class bashers who want them not to think out of the little liberal left wing think box, pro-American bashers, pro less taxes bashing etc. etc. Kind of makes you wonder when this country can truly be united over anything.

What Gore did was sacrifice the good of the party for his own personal goals. He knows Dean can't win, meaning that after Bush is in for 8 years, Gore will be the prohibitive front runner in 2008....
