Do you work in a Nassau County Dept and watch as they give all the overtime to thr "special friends"?
out of control

Its out of control in Social Services ....people have to be in the in crowd to get it. Some get OT for answering the phone, bng the CPS on call person AND sitting at thr desk doing OT also. TRIPLE DIPPING

Well, what do you expect when you've got Brenda Roach as the head Accountant? Think he spends a lot of time monitoring expenses?? Now why should he do such a thing? He only makes $118,000 a year.

And yet he refuses to allow any overtime in his own department, which badly needs it.

So. Anyone surprised that the big department that exsists to help people who need it has, as a group, forgotten that is thr raison d"etre?
Let us create a list of all those who use DSS as a money troth for themselves alone and they understand that there is a finite amount of immoral largess to split and each time they have to add a person, they get less.
I nominate:
M. K. K, M. J. F.

Let's at l get the players right. Brendan Raoch is an accountant. John O'Nll, a political hack appointed by Tom Stokes in 2007, really runs the finances of DSS. Along with commisioner Dr John Imhoff and political $$ contributor Mary Brosnan (playing the role of assistant commisioner), none knows anything avbout DSS. It's all about putting the civil servants in thr place and feeding the public BS about how wonderful Suozzi is. The lowest priority is the client. Look at for the inevitable train wreck sometime in the near future.
EXPLAIN THIS TO ME

On the weekend that the mother in Westbury killed her 3 children why was the OT person who was supposed to make contact with that mother on Sunday, from the PROBATION DEPT?
He wasn't. He was a part-time employee who happened to work for NYC probation.

Didnt know DSS had part timers. Was he getting paid a base rate...Newsday ...which always has half truths...said something about OT.

Isn't it disgusting that one of your own co-workers could just come out and say in a meeting full of people the she needs the OT because she's a single mother with 4 kids. So...that means she gets to triple dip..(I see they cut that out) It certainly is a me me me world in DSS. What ...no one else has bills? The contract says that OT is to be divided equally ,,,BIG LAWSUIT COMING.

What ? JF no longer sits at her desk on ot..while bng the CPS on call person AND doing the emergency night phone line ...3 at same time? All the while SCREWING her co-workers out of some of that ot! YES ..it is OT...that what it is listed under on your check when they pay you for the night emergency line.
How does someone like that get away with it? WHY doesnt the Union stop it...they know about it...especially after your recently retired co-worker won a grievance that opened it up to all.
CONTRACT says OT to be distributed equally...how did these greedy pigs get away with it for years?
Get in on next grievance and maybe you can collect for years of missed opportunity.
OH! thats right...no one left there to challenge the status quo...every AFRAID to sign grievances because of retaliation. You will all miss out on the big one.
goooone

To correct the huge, constant unfairness in Nassau the employees will have to organize themselves, file grievances, force the union to provide legal representation and go to court - preferably not a court owned by One West.
The problem is that the employees are too afraid. The Stepford employees are willing to allow this to happen to them. They grumble amongst themselves but will not speak out. No guts, no sense of self respect, no understanding that, in huge numbers, you are safe. You may take a lump or two but the more you study the law, the more you realize that, if they come after you, they hand you a huge, winning lawsuit - a real cash cow. Ask yourself, do you want your kids to work there after you? Do you want them to find out what a weenie you had to be?
What you had to swallow to survive?

You are right, brother. Your words are very true. However, I have found, in my Nassau County civil service career, that if you have an incident where you are bng personally stepped on AND YOU STAND UP to the individual that is hurting and undermining you, then that person will back down. I have been in this situation a few times. When you show the County Creeps you are not going to tolerate thr crap, they will back away. Then they will proceed to pick on somebody weaker than you. Standing up to the garbage and exploitation in Nassau is difficult and stressful, but worth doing in the long run. You gotta have some SELF-RESPECT, know what I mean? You gotta decide- am I a Man or a Mouse??
no stepford here

I hear JF...alias Jeanette Fngold is back on the call list, sucking up OT from her co-workers. Is it triple dipping again?

I hope there is never another train wreck like the recent one. The clients should not have to pay for the corruption of yet another department.
If you see something, if you know something, then do something. They get away with it because you allow them to be certain YOU will never out them.
I want to see a rogues gallery (like in Newsday today) of pictures and details of acts, salaries, hooks, rabbis et al. I think the NYT is a better place to have it.
What say you?
Listen. I hear that you can be silent but while you are on county property, they can translate your thoughts into computer printouts. A staff of 5 reads it and highlights passages for the attention of Bonnie Garone. They will be coming after you.
