View Full Version : Valley Stream
sick of VS
06-22-2008, 03:45 PM
My family has lived in Valley Stream since the late 1940's. Valley Stream has gone downhill and is going deeper and deeper down. The Avenue looks like a shit hole. It used to be a great place to shop. Taxes are too high, not just for the citizens but for business owners as well. Rent is astronomical! Their are houses after houses with grass over grown, boarded up from foreclosure, and for sale signs everywhere...it's getting worse. Taxes have increased so much that the elderly cannot afford to live here, nor can new families...the ones who are left are struggling to survive. On the topic of bullies, the Iadaveio family ranks high on the list! Mr. Iadaveio bullies his way around the Board of Education (VS#24 and VSCHD#1). How dare he want to take away the tax incentive for the Volunteer firemen/women in our community! He’s upset with them because he lost the Village trustee election. He wasn’t deep enough in their pockets I guess. Please someone get this man off of our School Boards. He has countless family members employed in these districts as well as friends of family members all lining his pockets it’s ridiculous. Only relatives or friends of relatives are employed in the districts...someone really needs to do genealogy search on the district employee’s...it will amaze you how many people are related in someway or another, a friend of a relative, or neighbor of a board member ...especially at District 24...it’s pathetic.

I lived in Valley Stream from 1952 to 1969. I rode past it weeks ago, it is sad what happen to this place. Valley Stream has become Rosedale, I could not agree with you more. And yes just like the other poster said "move" I did, because I could not afford to buy a house there. Boy am I glad I did !

It's worse than Rosedale. It's more like East Laurelton now or do I dare say East Cambria Heights?

The last 2 posters need to learn about how well diversity REALLY is.
Oh, never mind, you see it now.
Obama will be sending you rose colored glasses to see how nice your community really is.
And a free coupon for diversity lessons at the Al Sharpton School of Love and Hugs.

This is the price you will pay 4 diversity
Cambria Hts East is here - following Skellmont's transition
Wait for the robberies, drive-by's & other cultural improvements that will ensue this transition.
At least State Aid for the schools cannot be too far behind - look at the benefits to the Hempstead School Dist ;)

That's why I moved. My wife and I were raised there but now we moved out east. I'll be damned if I let my kids grow up there and go to those schools!

Valley Stream was a great place in the 70’s and 80’s. The Sons Of Italy was at the border of town and they were like trying to get through a US Border. Little to NO crap went on

It really is. Used to be a nice Italian and working class community. Now it's been overrun with "criminals" and white trash. Way to bring the neighborhood value down, immigrants from rosedale and border trashy areas!
