YES! Osama should have been our #1 target in the first place.
Maybe Saddam will tell us where the WMDs that we went to war over that he never used during this whole thing are. While I will never be convinced that this war was the right thing to do, and I know it was motivated by less-than-impartial reasons, I'm glad Hussn is captured. One less monster on the loose in the world is a good thing. But it would have been nice if we RELENTLESSLY went after the guy who murdered 3000 Americans in Sept of 2001. Which, of course, could likely have been prevented if Bush had put the plan into place that was devised under Clinton's rgn at Clinton's directive. Once Osama was captured, THEN we should have looked at the other dangers to the US and our interests (can you say North Korea?).
I really wonder how things will change in Iraq now. I will be very surprised if it becomes a peaceful country - I believe there are too many Saddam loyalists who will continue his brutal methods.
Thank you to our troops who found Saddam - I certainly hope we pony up the $25m reward dollars to them - they deserve it.
Edited to correct date - thank you Delta Force for pointing that out. PS - see the little "Spell Check" button next to the "Add Reply" one? Maybe it'd help you spell your name right! And oh - your worship of the Fox News Channel? Explains a LOT. Edited by: Allie62 at: 12/14/03 12:01 pm

Dan Rather and his left wing media buddies had clearly unhappy faces today. Due to the success in Baddag.
George W. Bush Just got RE-ELECTED. Saddam will talk to the U.S. FORCES simply he does not want to be turned over the the people of Ir qua people. We will find out the connection with all the other terrorist groups.

Did you mean Baghdad? He was captured near Tikrit, not Baghdad. And Bush get re-elected? I don't think so. How do you think the families and friends of the 456 Americans murdered by him feel? Or those of the 2600 Americans wounded? I'd be willing to bet that they will not forget what thr loved ones died for - revenge, oil and money. None of which was gained by them.
As far as what Bush has done in office otherwise, you must be in the higher tax brackets of citizens that will benefit from the tax breaks that he's giving his buddies. You must be of an age that is already taking advantage of your Medicare benefits because you know there will be no Medicare program in place by the time I reach retirement age (in 24 years). Your kids must already be out of school, so they've aren't going to be subjected to the federally mandated "no child left behind" program which takes money away from schools if the kids don't test up to par - never mind that those are the schools that need the funding to hire better teachers and procure additional resources the most. You must not have a problem with his hand-picked (by Bush Sr?) vice president taking money (and then lying about it) from a company that has ripped off the US military by $61M due to a contract that they were awarded with no competition just because they donated way too much money to the president's election funds. I could go on, but I think I've made my point.
Go ahead and throw away your vote. W is a one-term fictional president.

Rather than gloating, threatening or war-mongering, how about getting your list prioritized. France, Germany, Russia (or Canada - I'm surprised you left them off your list) pose no physical threat to the US or our interests. Al-Qaeda-harboring Syria and readied-nuclear-armed North Korea DO. And no one seems to remember that almost all of the 9/11 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia. Arrogance got our soldiers needlessly murdered in Iraq - let's not let it happen again. Let's choose our battles wisely and go after the ones who threaten our safety, rather than going willy-nilly after whoever doesn't agree with everything that our president may say or do. (Hmm - I wonder if MY apartment is in danger of bng attacked?)

Most if not all of them feel grief but they are proud of thier kids for serving thier country when duty called them. You would have like to minimalized thier losses and have us pull out right. Let me guess you're voting for Dean?

Don't worry they'll raise the taxes again in 24 years. I remember hearing all this liberal hysteria when Reagan was POTUS but yet the budget deficits were brought back under control.
So you don't want to give parents choice on where to send thier kids to school? You see when parents start taking thier kids out of public schools the school gets less money. That is the incentive for the school to straighten up it's act. We have been throwing money at them schools for 40 years the dems way and they are getting worse not better. It's time for a change in policy. Besides with the money the government takes away from the public schools to give to the parents they can know send thier kids to one of the religious schools that will teach thier kids. It's kind of like when your kid ask you for money to goto the mall and you say clean your room first. See what I mean now, the kid now has incentive to clean his room.
Dick Cheney has his profits setup in a trust for charity, as far as awarding Haliburton the contract why not give it to someone you can trust to do the job and not just the lowest biddder. That work is far too important to just give to anyone and Haliburton does that jobs well. If you owned a home and needed plumbing done are you gonna hire any schmuck with the lowest bid or your friend who is a plumber and a damn good one?

You can tell yourself that but it is not true. Good luck to ya though.

France and Germany are in deep doggy dodo, I expect Russia to undermine the US and ignore santions against Iraq. Nobody expected our allies to do that. President Bush has said Canada will be taken care of. Getting back to France, Russia, and Germany I would like to see them brought in front of International courts for selling arms to Saddam under the guise of the oil for food program which turned out to be weapons for oil.
We have a base in the middle now smack dab in the center of it. Don't worry just because you don't understand how Iraq is part of the WOT you will eventually when history plays it's course and the Ayatollahs are overthrown in Iran and the dominoes tumble from there.

Most if not all of them soldiers over there are proud of our President and are proud to serve our country why don't you show them you are proud of them instead of the BS demagoging. The war on terror will end eventually and our troops will come home. Until that time those troops are proud to be serving thier country.
