Question for you? Who ever drives the East Islip Fire Department Chief's car with the # 32 on the side has got to slow down on Main Street this is not a speedway even if you are responding to a call. Please obey the traffic law. This is something that the Commissioners should address!!!!

WIFD can't even dispatch well for themselves! FRES activates them first before the retards at base 3-17-0 take over. It doesn't make any common sense for EIFD to give up their high quality dispatching to WIFD!

What's with West Islip? A couple of years ago they tried to take Babylon Village away from Babylon Central. Now they're trying to take over East Islip. Their district is large enough and busy enough to keep their dispatcher occupied, especially with all of the open water areas that they have claimed to be their district and cover with their Naval Fleet.
If East Islip really wants someone else to dispatch for them why not get their neighbor, Islip. It would make alot more sense.
And forget the county. You get what you pay for with them......

I certainly hope that the West Islip FD is going to tyry and use this plan of taking over dispatch for the East Islip Fd of a way of getting approval for a new building or expansion, especially after the way they tried to sneak it through a couple of years agon on a holiday weekend when they thought no one would notice. I live right near a WIFD Commissioner and he told me that county dispatch doesn't charge to dispatch, so why would they want to pay WIFD what I would believe a large amount of money to do this. I have a relative who live in East Islip who was shocked when I told him. I advised him that he and other town residents should attend the board meeting and he didn't know he was allowed to do this as was the case with me unitl that incident a couple of years agos on the holiday weekend. It seems to be all about the money and that one commissioner in East Islip who is pushing for this. Obviously the members have no say in how they protect the community very sad.

guys, WIFD wanted to take over bfd dispatch due to the phenominal costs of central fire. Its bad enough that they bid 1 dollar to take robert moses state parks and fire island coast guard station to add to their " supposed response district. These people want to take over as much as they can. Most of the decisions come from that nutbag commissioner.(insert name here) The guy is as useless as the solar powered k-12 saw. The BFD are not leaving central alarm. It would be disastrous for That Dept. knowing all the responses, beach areas,etc... WIFD needs to learn how to put out fires correctly before they can expand!!!

East Islip is a census-designated place (CDP) and a hamlet located in the Town of Islip on unincorporated land in Suffolk County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had only 4,578 households and a total population of 14,078 persons.

Originally referred to as "east of Islip," the proper name was acquired in 1890 from the estate of William Nicoll, an English aristocrat who purchased the hamlet on the 29th of November 1693 to erect a family residence. Nicolls purchase comprised of 51,000 acres (210 kmē) from the Secatogues Indians including territory reaching east to Bayport, west to Babylon, and north to Lake Ronkonkoma. His mansion, Islip Grange named after his family's ancestral estate at Northampshire, England stood on the shoreline of the current Heckscher State Park, referred to as Nicolls Neck. East Islip and neighboring Islip, Bay Shore, Great River and Oakdale, were mansion-heavy enclave on Long Island's South Shore, home to world renowned families of nobility and old money.

Today, the hamlet is no longer a haven to New York and the world's social elite. What remains are much smaller, yet exclusive and wealthy communities and few larger estates. Many of these newer communities were built on the land belonging to former estates that were sold off; most notably the estate of Percy G. Williams. The Moorings, an opulent waterfront guard-gated private community is one of the hamlet's premier neighborhoods and highly regarded by Long Island's affluent. Other neighborhoods within the hamlet include Deer Run and Percy Williams Cove.

west islip does the same. these fuckers go on the air. regardless of what dept. is getting dispatched for a call. I know we have had to retone calls 2-3 times because they overpower the airwaves!! even with signal 19s with their 5 announcements. and god forbid if dispatcher 11 is on the air. If its a forthwith call, consider the person a goner, because you will never hear the call.Fire that douchebag
