Can someone tell me how the gas station at the corner of Route 109 and Herzel Blvd in West Babylon can be open and not inspected in years by the Fire inspectors?
The place has old paint covering everything and no active fire extingusihment system overhead from what I can see.
The fire suppression tanks have NO tags attached.
Looks to me like this place is in desparate need of a Fire Inspection.
Is this just plain neglect or did someone drop the ball?

You say there is no active fire extinguishment system but you say the "tanks" have no inspection tag..... So do these tanks just sit there, or is there piping attached?
I don't seem to find "old paint" on the building and canopy as a violation of the Fire Code. Covering heat detectors, yes, that would be a violation.
Also, extinguishing system contractors don't usually tag the exterior tanks, they put them near the actuator as well as the pull station so they don't get weathered.
Depending on when the station was built and if it is self serve or full serve, a system might not even be needed there.
And lastly, instead of wasting your breath here, have you filed a complaint with the division? If not, I'd suggest you should. If you have, maybe you should call back for an update.
