With everything that is going on in the county why is nobody looking into the fire departments. The theft and overspending is out of control and needs to be stopped now. You are all invited to use the new steam room and jacuzzi at the Coram Fire House. Just we needed more DNA swimming around the main house. Your paying for it you better enjoy it!!
Please call the district manager and commissioners if you would like access.

It's funny that while snoozeday, the DA, and just about every civic group out there is already looking at the Fire Departments you say nobody is looking and yet they should? What a complete jerk! Spota has reviewed the books of over thirty Fire Departments and Districts, snoozeday has been to them all, and do you know what they found? In almost all cases the FD's have spent money, (tax money), in a very appropriate manner. With the exception of a few crooks who managed to wrangle trips to nice hot spots in the name of "Conventions". You mention a steam room and a sauna, why didn't you mention the Gym? I guess because it's perfectly logical to have a steam room and sauna alongside a gym. I guess also because it's obviously much more reasonable to buy gym equipment, a sauna, a steam room and furnish a locker room than to pay a local gym thousands of dollars every year to allow members to work out and maintain a standard of physical fitness. You are just another loser piece of sh!t who doesn't fit in and wants to make waves for someone else. While you have members clashing over RACE ISSUES, the fact that you have a steam room and a sauna pales in comparison. Work out your internal difficulties first, then come on here when you have an actual problem that someone besides you should care about.
By the way, if you are who I think you are, maybe you should try out those facilities for yourself fatso!

its the power trips and unchecked power of the commissioners office as a whole. These retards who need nothing more than a birth certificate are able to be voted into office based on the lack of public knowledge as to what they really even do, have no checks and balances. They do what they want, interpret the laws they are ruled by their way and no one can go against it because there is nowhere to go. They basically do what they want. Even for the employees of these districts, they are on their own without, civil service, OSHA or NYS to help in any way because there isn't anything anyone can do to help them. The system sucks, and these commissioners know it, and running against them is not the whole solution, its alot of it but regulations against them would also help. Prevention of abuse of power would be a step in the right direction. They spend money appropriately, they have learned to do that, thanks to others who have fucked it up. But the problem is their simple abuse of power. Right now, a district employee has no leg to stand on as the civil service system is crap and doesn't do shit to protect an employee in anyway except make them have a hearing, but the district can hire their own arbitrator or even do it themselves. Then decide what they want, no matter what the hearing outcome was/is. With more districts going paid, this trend has to end, and we need smart people not criminals running these places. VJ is proof of a criminal running a multi-million dollar operation, and don't say that there are 4 other commissioners, cause we all know how others do what they are told because of threats by senior commissioners if they dont.

Why is it "Perfectly Logical" to have a steam room and a sauna next to a gym....???? I wasn't aware they added to the effectiveness of a work out
kidding right2

a steam room and a sauna. big deal. costs about what a commercial stove might. low maintanance, keeps vollies sitting in the firehouse ready for a call rather than at a bar. i'm all for it. if that's the worst people do with my taxes i'd be happy. save me the $100 a month on gas/oil that I'm overspending instead.

Just another reason to go to a paid county department and get rid of vollies once and for all. A gym, please... For every vollie that is in shape there are 60 with beer bellies hanging down to their knees. The steam room is better suited for sweating out the alcohol. It would be much cheaper to give a gym membership to those vollies that actually exercise than to build a whole gym. It is nothing more than one fire department trying to out do another department. Its called keeping up with the Jones. These fire departments are nothing more than out of control boys clubs period. Paid department is much cheaper in the long run. It will eliminate all of the excessive toys, the excessive fire houses and the out of control vollies. A paid department would be much more cost effective and at the same time supply good jobs during a time of economic down turn. The money would be handled closer to properly than it is now. Half of these commissioners are nothing more than white, ignorant trash that probably can't even balance a check book but now they are in charge of millions of tax payers dollars. The system is broken and needs to be fixed. Eliminate the boys with their blues flashing lights racing down the road nearly killing people on the way to save people. That alone is enough of a reason to go to a paid department!!!!!!! So start stripping the 2 dozen flashing and blinking lights off of your cars and sell them on EBay because the volunteer fire department lottery is drying up. No more training seminars on cruise ships and vegas, no more race cars and equipment that never gets used but looks real cool in the garage, no more gyms for guys who haven't lifted anything more than a beer can in the last twenty years. :( :(
you go boy!!!!

Wow...very well stated. The volies keep making it sound like tax payers would be paying more for paid service but with 7.7 million in building sitting in Coram ...that tax payers paid for...I am thinking paying salaries would be way freaking cheaper...it stops so much extra spending. How about spending that kind of money on people who are out of work right now and facing foreclosure or that single mom who is trying to keep a roof over their head instead of perks for firemen. That huge building would make for a great shelter for people who need it...remove the damn equipment and put a few cribs and beds for those who truly need it. It is a sad world when we think we HAVE to give perks to people who are suppose to be selfless and save a life. Self gratification should be the ONLY perk! Do it because it is the right thing to do.

Your right but the rules of the VJFD are no kids allowed upstairs or downstairs so the kids will have to sleep outside. They have enough people living at the fire houses like K.B.!

After reading all these comments day after day it seems the ones writing them don't have the BALLS to come out in the open and say what they have to say. Did you ever think if you did that some of this would be addressed???? There is always room for improvement, but how can that happen when noone is willing to stand up and speak their mind?? You all hide behind this thread! Find something better to do with your time.
