No, the two are NOT comparable.

George W. Bush's explainations for his administration's actions are quite frankly beyond belief, especially with the CIA, FBI, and even the pentagon routinely contradicting what he asserts. So basically, we're left to GUESS what his motivations are. I'm GUESSING that money has everything to do with the situation we find ourselves in right now. Especially with the EXTREMELY symbiotic relationship between virtually all members of the bush administration and the defence/oil industries. He's never even ATTEMPTED to deny this.

So yes, I think there IS a difference between this and assuming that Hillary was "stealing the spotlight" purely for her own gain. Especially when the MOST corrupt thing she'd be doing is running for president. Which of course, she has said she's not doing.

No, I'm attempting to point out that the Bush administration has blocked any and all REAL investigation into thr more controversial dealings.

I think whether Hillary "stole the spotlight" or not is really really inconsequential, and distracting from the fact that the presidency took us into a war for no good reason, continue to block investigations into Sept. 11th 2001, hide thr REAL policies behind slogans and threats (your safety will be in danger if you don't let the oil companies pollute more!), intimidate people who question them, and in general are making the world a much more oppressive place to live.

But as many people have pointed out in the past, sociopaths like the ones in the Bush administration are NOT stupid, so what could thr real motivations be? Attacking Iraq does NOT remove any threat of terrorism, nor is it a valid target in this stupidly named "war on terrorism". And by the way, "the war on terrorism" will go about as smoothly as the "war on [some] drugs". In fact, they could more accurately call this the war on SOME terrorism. And of course, we're warring against "terrorists" who impede our preferred business practices in a region rich with natural resources.

So you're right, I am hypothesizing about America's real motivations overseas, but only because the reasons they give don't make any sense in this sensory-sensual world we live in. We don't live in a world of words like Bushco would like us to believe, where people "are evil". We live in a world of emotion, and reaction to our actions, and bombing the crap out of third world country after third world country, THEN profiting from the conflict doesn't seem to solve ANYTHING in my opinion. Why do you think these people hate us in the first place? Or wait I forgot, they hate us for our freedom? How ridiculous.
