The manpower is not an issue because each cop still would work the same number of man-hours during each pay period, just make less appearances.

Everyone who works 12's love them; Nassau, Troopers, Amityville Village, etc.

We should get on board with the times.

12 hour tours = 10 hours

Lets face it, they will do whatever they want to do. If we work 12's and there is any overlap for any reason then 12's become 10 etc. Just like a 4X12 is really a 4X11 right?

12 hour tours??? You guys have a hard enough time trying to look busy already. What the hell could you do to keep busy for 12 hours????? Maybe try to rig up an XBox in your patrol cars so you all can play together when you're hiding out somewhere out of public view.

The arbitor is going to take away a lot this contract Nah, not really, cost to the average taxpayer will only be around 65.00 per year for 6 years for our new contract.
Take a deep breathe, you fools are getting off easy.

Word on the street is Mr. Levy will get the arbiter to make us pay for our health bennies. Also, the increase will be 13% spread across 6 years. Night differential cut in half. 3 extra days working throughout the year. It seems as though Steve Levy wants to try to get some value for the service we provide. Why can't he leave us alone? We have a great thing going, hanging out at d&d, 7-11, and the local vollie mansions.

Basically....yes. And I did take the test. I was the only one who brought a pencil instead of a crayon. They said that made me over-qualified. Go figure !!

The contract will resemble Nassau's. The issue will be sicktime.

The contract will resemble Nassau's. The issue will be sicktime.I heard sicktime wont be affected, but the 2014 or so one it will be a major issue. Probably will split at that point new hires will have smaller bank

Ask an old-timer, someone with 30 years on. They will remember there was no pro-rated sicktime accumulation. Everyone got 26 days.

The 12's are a great idea.

For some reason Jeff F. is dead-set against them. That's our loss.

Its too late inthe arbitration process. If you wanted this it should have been brought ot the rank and file prior to the contract expiring.
