Deperate or not ..those were 15 lives needlessly snuffed out.

I can't describe the angst I have knowing this is un-necessary and knoing that this comes from a guy who has never served...and is a demonstrated coward!

I think Nattydread's comments are more motivated by compassion than hatred. Think about it, you're the one who insists that people should keep dying.

But SusieQ, the way you described "fighting terror", I think, is part of the problem here. Do you understand what terrorism is? Terrorism is a VERY subjective term. But mostly, it means a group of people who are so impoverished, and so desperate and angry, that they resort to blowing themselves up to kill as many of the people who caused thr grief as they can.

The parallels you're drawing between Iraq and 9/11 are ridiculous as well, and run completely contrary to any evidence. Iraq had NOTHING to do with the September 11th attacks. I don't think you can even dispute that.

But you think bombing the crap out of a country, then taking over thr economy and creating a police state worse than Saddam Hussn's Iraq is a good way to PREVENT terrorism?

Did you know anybody who died in the World Trade Center? 3,000 or so Americans died then, but an estimated 10,000 Iraqi civilians have died since the beginning of this conflict in Iraq. Imagine thr grief and anger. Are you going to go over there and tell each and every man woman and child that thr loved ones' deaths were justified? How?

Iraq is a MESS, and the only reason you don't see it is because you have such a faith in the American news media. But there is a MASSIVE amount of evidence that this administration lied to America about Iraq (abotu it's threat to the world, which basically didn't exist. It's more dangerous NOW), and that the news media didn't do it's job bng a watchdog for the people.

Just look at the CIA leak scandal. Independant news sites were reporting on that MONTHS before the mainstream media decided to cover it. The White house knew about it, but didn't do a damn thing until the major networks and newspapers covered it. As long as the media doesn't do it's job, making sure what the government claims is accurate, the Bush administration can get away with whatever it wants. It's already happened DOZENS of times.

Stop following your emotions for a bit and think not only about what has happened..but what is happening!

Attacking Iraq does nothing to quell the issue dealing with our attack. Worst it serves to distract us, deplete our resources and actually makes us less safe. Just look at the extremes these people are going through to kill American GI today...do you for one second believe that if they had WMD to kill our GI's in mass they would hesitate? And so now all of a sudden our main goal is humanitarian..who but someone trained like a dog to obey rather than to think would believe this?

Thats what you (Repugs) have become..obedient and emotional saps! Bush has somehow morphed into the second coming of the messiah to most of you.

I struggled to believe it when I first heard it from Boykin...I struggled to believe not only that someone was that stupid..but that kind of rhetoric was bng spewed in this era!
