I agree, Bresin gave him a run for his money, but he was the worst I can remember. Screaming at people, treating people like they were shit, worried about himself first, his company second and where the free food was next. I got nothing against Truck, but it was McD and a couple of other senior people there that helped jam those guys up during the block party incident. A chief and 2 commissioners and those guys got screwed as much as they did? That's because the 3 were out for themselves. This is how you measure morale. Calls are not a measure of morale because the trucks will always get out regardless if members are pissed and disgusted because this is why most of us joined we like to go to calls. Turnouts for parades, installations and other activities is how you judge morale. Bng that this year had the lowest installation turnout and a joke of a county parade turnout shows the morale is shot and Danny boy doesnt get it never did never will. This is the lamest Chief and year weve had yet. We looked like a junior fire dept marching saturday. One flag? Are you kidding? We used to have three rows of flags. Hit the nail on the head! I remember all those parades. I was in the color guard for all of them and it was some feeling marching with all those flags and all those members in line. Its really sad now, i didnt march saturday because from what i was hearing noone was going so i figured if we couldnt march like we used to then id rather not march at all. Im glad i sat this one out. I would have been completely embarrassed to march with 20 guys in line. Thats like 80 less then what we should have.

OK, I know this is a mistake, but I will not sit here and have people such as yourself simply lie. I am going to Baltimore with my son for a vacation. I booked my own room, I'm driving my car, paying for my own meals and in fact even though they were offered to me I even purchased 2 tickets to the exhibit on my own, because it was not right for me to take them for my son as he is not a department member. I am paying for everything, and I will not request rmbursement of anything. I will however be investigating potential news products for the OFD. Further to your point there is no vote for who goes to a convention. So I could not vote NO for others going. As for what I said during my campaign it was "There is no reason for all of the BOFC to go to all or possibly any of these events. To maximize potential attendance numbers, one room size fits all. If we can manage 2, 3 or 4 to a room comfortably then that is the policy for everyone attending."

So if you're going to lie at l base it on facts. Oh by the way I have the complete list of everything I said during my campaign. If you would like a copy ask me for one, in person. Seng as you claim to know so much about my actions you clearly know what I look like, so walk up and ask me for it. I'm hard to miss.

If you have a problem with that get over it. We have no plans of running the department, that's for the Chiefs. I'm not a savior, I'm just a dude, no better or worse than any other member. If you're looking for a savior there are several excellent houses of worship available in Oceanside. I consider myself in good company here. I looked over the entire site before I wrote this and people like yourself have trashed almost every commissioners past and present, almost every chief past and present, members from each and every company, every single actual company, almost every committee and even district employees. What’s been accomplished by it? Nothing that I can see, except for hurting a few feelings, trashing some folks who really didn’t deserve it, lowering morale, and making it difficult for any of us to really trust the person next to us on a rig. That’s not a good thing for a FD.

I know this was a mistake posting this, but silence is equally damaging. At l now I’m on record as myself, not in anonymity, the manner in which you choose to pontificate. It’s really simple, ask me or for that matter why not try addressing your issues directly with all the people you have them with and that includes the chiefs and other commissioners. Try it that way and see if maybe you’ll get a bit farther or at l gain a better understanding of things.

Look folks there are people just looking for reasons to trash the Volunteers. It serves others outside of the fire service to paint us in a bad light. This site only gives them ammunition. You're posting here to protect what you think is your turf or to further your personal agenda or position, but in actuality you're also damaging the very entity you claim to care so much about. Be careful that it's really not all about you. My problem is I really do care and will not be disuaded from trying to make things better with the help of others. Why does a district vehicle need to go to the Poconos on a personal trip? I want to take a family vacation; can I have the van? When the topic of recycling chief cars comes up, DM's only responses were "well, the first guy who doesn't get a brand new car is going to feel bad," followed by "well, we have to wait two years anyway until the cars are all the same color." Do you honestly think that when we respond to a house fire, or ambulance call, that John Q Taxpayer cares about what color car the chief was driving? No; he cares that his house was saved or someone was there to do CPR on grandma. And on top of that, anyone who is in it for a brand new car has no business bng chief in the first place.

Doesn't it bother you that you think so negatively about your fire dept? Regardless if ur a member or just a resident of the town. All commisioners, chiefs and officers including myself have there faults bec we are not perfect. But right now we could make so much more of the current line up of chiefs and commisioners. This chiefs line is prob one of the best I have ever seen since becoming a member. 241 is very knowledgable in fire and ems. He may not be awesome at the fire side but when it comes to ems he knows his stuff. His knowledge is needed when its a 63 for your family or yourself at an alarm. 241a after just spending 3 hours with him on alarm he is extremely knowledgable in all areas of the fire dept. Yea at times he can have a cop attitude or seem unapproachable but deep down he is a great guy and he has a ton of connections and you can learn a lot from him. 241b he is the chief at firecom another one who is extremely knowledgable in fire related situations. What sticks out in my mind when he doesn't know s/t he can ask or when he is on an ems run he is approachable and does not get in your way. I really can not think of anything neg about him. 241c while he is the new chief and don't know his strong points I know he is a great emt from riding a bunch of 9s with him. Not only that he is chilled out and extremely friendly and wants us all to be a brotherhood again.

As for the commisioners I really don't know them too well I just know 3 out of the 4 say what they feel even if its against u.which is what you need. Don't sugar cut s/t and then do otherwise behind your back. I Never had a commish go out of there way to tell my members how well they are doing and how proud of them he is like JM does. That's how you boost moral.

The reason the district has always gone out to bid with a legal notice is that a person connected to the board is not able to get vehicles with out bidding on it. No you idiot..... You can do what you want since you do not have a charter and are not registered with the State of New York as a fire company. And you are also not tax exempt as registered with the division of tax and finance.

All 6 companies are registered and incorporated and have done so with the state which means you have to play by the rules and regs that have been set up by the state. Do you remember about a year or so ago a meeting with the fire district acountant telling us all we had to make sure we had the proper paperwork and were properly registered with the state. He went thru the basic rules on spending and recving monies from the district also.
