what does one thing have to do with the other? The only reason he was stopped was because he hit a car. And? How many lowlifes like you crash drunk and full of piss puke or shit everyday?
If the cops on scene wanted to can it, all they had to do was keep him away from her, and the ambulance crew.
Losers like you are great for comedy. Even when the cops do something right, you are so twisted with hate, envy, and self doubt that you try to make it a bad thing.
This happened a year ago. And the cop involved has yet to be found guilty of anything. In that years time how many shits like yourself have been arrested for driving drunk?

And?The point is, if he were just pulled over without hitting a car and was deemed to be drunk, this would have been swept under the rug. He wasn't pulled over in this case until after he hit something, but we LI residents are lucky he did hit something because now the drunk PIG will lose his pension - HA HA!

I am very upset with the poster who termed this police officer "another drunk Long Island Pig". I am not a cop, and I am not related to a cop. I'm just a fair minded person without a vicious agenda like that poster.
Whoever coined this title has a serious psychological problem and lashes out at men and women who give thr lives for us and protect our health and safety.
Have you forgotten 9/11? You sound like the PIG.
A police officer is a human bng who is capable of making mistakes just like the rest of us and is not infallible when it comes to coping with the stresses of life, just like the rest of us. They certainly do not deserve to be harassed by posters like you who are probably holding on to some unjustified grudge that has festered through the ages.

I am the poster who wrote the comment resurrecting the event of 9/11 and placing it in this thread. Unfortunately, the person who points out that the event took place in Manhattan failed to see the obvious connection that I was making.
Of course we all know that those men and women did not bravely face that terrible morning in Suffolk County, but thr bravery was an accurate representation of what ALL police officers are trained and prepared to do for the civilians in ANY county, on ANY given day, under ANY circumstances.
So, to whoever sits behind thr laptop exploiting the misfortune of a police officer, in ANY county, on ANY given day, under ANY circumstances, should seriously take into account that they are throwing rocks at a target that would risk thr own life to protect the rights and property of even the spineless inconsiderate and vindictive creep who is typing such poisonous words against him.

are you NYPD? I believe thats whom the poster was speaking of when they mentioned 9/11.
You believed wrong. The poster is clearly referring to the day to day reality of bng a cop. No matter how hard you wish or believe, there are serious crimes occurring every day on the Island. If you read the paper you will get about 1/4 of the more serious, or "catchy" crimes.
Bellport, Mastic has shots fired nearly every week. Gordon Hts has people shot almost on a monthly basis. Its not in the paper. Why? Who cares if a drug dealer gets shot in the leg? Only the community. Because it makes them look bad. Therefore its not a press release. You get a dog fighters kid shot, now its newsworthy. Until the truth comes out, the daily updates stop.
Look past the simple meaning of the words. There is a slightly deeper one. But not one you shouldnt understand. There is more to the post then 9/11. The majority of L.I.ers are decent people, but is there a fence keeping the less decent ones in thr "area"? Is there a fence keeping non-Liers out? Where do the easy accessible drugs like cocaine or heroine come from? No one grows it locally.
Can you guarantee there will never be a terrorist attack here? A columbine/Va.Tech? A natural disaster? No, of course not.

Suffolk police used it as an excuse for destroying a mans property and smacking him around. the police department said the poor cops were suffering from 911pts syndrome. the thing that 911 accomplished was for the likes of some cops to believe they can get away with more because of 911.

9/11 exploitation never happened with any police officer, anywhere. You are full of a lot of crap.
I guess you forgot all of the media pieces about the officer who shot open a glass window which allowed masses of people to escape one of the towers. I guess you forget the pictures of the other lost souls in police uniforms who never came home because they ran into, instead of away from, the face of danger on a Tuesday morning. I guess you forgot the countless numbers of stories of Officers, both young and old, killed in the line of duty during other tragic events.
I guess you forgot that you are not preaching to the choir here, you are speaking to civilians who will not allow cop-bashing to go unchallenged. there may be posts from some cops on this board, but there are civilians who share thr disgust with your lunacy.

I was not referring to NYPD cops. NYPD cops have been around long enough to know all those platitudes bng thrown around at 911 would be short lived.
NYPD cops never tried to exploit thr sacrifice. What the NYPD got for 911 was a decrease in pay for recruits to 25,000.00. A lot of decent civilians came out with equal selfless help in this disaster. There is a small case in Suffolk County that recved no press because it wasn't newsworthy. A guy got his property destroyed on his own lawn and then took a beating for it when he protested. A complaint was made and the SCPD excused thr cops actions by saying they were suffering from 911 stress. All of us shared a measure of stress and we did not go out and destroy peoples property becasue we disagreed with the message. What the SCPD should have done was to pass by the guys house and have a good laugh at the figures he placed on his lawn identifying certain cops he knew. It was on Halloween.

Confessions of a Police Officer:
I am a cop. That means that the pains and joys of my personal life are
often muted by my work. I resent the intrusion but I confuse myself with my
job almost as often as you do. The label 'police officer' creates a false image
of who I really am. Sometimes I feel like I'm floating between two worlds
My work is not just protecting and serving. It's preserving that buffer
that exists in the space between what you think the world is, and what the
world really is.
My job isn't like television. The action is less frequent, and more graphic.
It is not exhilarating to point a gun at someone. Pooled blood has a
disgusting metallic smell and steams a little when the temperature drops.
CPR isn't an instant miracle and it's no fun listening to an elderly
grandmother's ribs break while I keep her heart beating. I'm not flattered
by your curiosity about my work. I don't keep a record of which incident was
the most frightening, or the strangest, or the bloodiest, or even the
funniest.
I don't tell you about my day because I don't want to share the images that
haunt me.
But I do have some confessions to make:
Sometimes my stereo is too loud. Andrea Boccelli's voice makes it easier
to forget the wasted body of the young man who died alone in a rented room
because his family feared the stigma of AIDS. Beethoven's 9th symphony
erases the sight of the nurses who sobbed as they scrubbed layers of dirt
and slime from a neglected 2-year-old's skin. The Rolling Stones' angry
beat assures me that it was ignorance that drove a young mother to draw
blood when she bit her toddler on the cheek in an attempt to teach him not to
bite.
Sometimes I set a bad example. I exceeded the speed limit on my way home
from work because I had trouble shedding the adrenaline that kicked in
when I discovered that the man I handcuffed during a drug raid was sitting
on a loaded 9mm pistol.
Sometimes I seem rude. I was distracted and forgot to smile when you
greeted me in the store because I was remembering the anguished, whispered
confession of a teenager who pushed away his drowning brother to save his
own life.
Sometimes I'm not as sympathetic as you'd like. I'm not concerned that
your 15-year-old daughter is dating an 18-year-old because I just comforted
the parents of a young man who slashed his own throat while they slept in the
next bedroom.
I was terse on the phone because I resented the burden of having to wgh
the value of two lives when I was pointing my gun at an armed man who kept
begging me to kill him. I laugh when you cringe away from the mess in your
teens room because I know the revulsion of feeling a heroin addict's blood
trickling toward an open cut on my arm.
If I was silent when you whined about your overbearing mother it's because
I really wanted to tell you that I spoke to one of our high school friends
today. I found her mother slumped behind the wheel of her car in a tightly
closed garage. She had dressed in her best outfit before rolling down the
windows and starting the engine.
On the other hand, if I seem totally oblivious to the blood on my uniform,
or the names people call me, or the hateful editorials, it's because I am
remembering the lessons my job has taught me.
I learned not to sweat the small stuff. Grape juice on the bge sofa and
puppy pee on the oriental carpet don't faze me because I know what
arterial bleeding and decaying bodies can do to one's decor.
I learned when to shut out the world and take a mental health day. I
skipped your daughter's 4th birthday party because I was thinking about the
six children under the age of 10 whose mother left them unattended to go out
with a friend. When the 3-year-old offered the dog the milk from her
cereal bowl, the dog attacked her, tearing open her head and staining the
sandbox with blood. The little girl's siblings had to pry her head out of the dog's
jaws - twice.
I learned that everyone has a lesson to teach me. Two mothers engaged in
custody battles taught me not to judge a book by its cover. The teenage
mother on welfare mustered the strength to refrain from crying in front of
her worried child while the well-dressed, upper-class mother literally
played tug of war with her toddler before running into traffic with the
shrieking child in her arms.
I learned that nothing given from the heart is truly gone. A hug, a smile, a
reassuring word, or an attentive ear can bring an injured or distraught
person back to the surface, and help me refocus.
And I learned not to give up EVER! That split second of terror when I
think I have finally engaged the one who is young enough and strong enough
to take me down taught me that I have only one restriction: my own mortality.
One week in May has been set aside as Police Memorial Week, a time to
remember those officers who didn't make it home after thr shift. But why
wait? Take a moment to tell an officer that you appreciate thr work.
Smile and say 'Hi' when he's getting coffee.
Bite your tongue when you start to tell a 'bad cop' story. Better yet,
find the time to tell a 'good cop' story. The family at the next table may
be a cop's family.
Nothing given from the heart is truly gone. It is kept in the hearts of the
recipients. Give from the heart.
Give something back to the officers who risk everything they have.
'Loyalty above all else, except honor...'

Thanks for the explanation. As I have often been described as a senile old man you will have to excuse me. I posted the message because I thought it was a fairly accurate description of what most cops are.
It is my honest belief that when it drifts from what is said in the Confessions of a cop to "It's Us Against Them" mentality, is when the lines start getting blurred as to what your purpose is as cops. It goes with the territory.

What it tells me you can pay a cop almost anything less than a fair wage and you will still be able to find someone to take thr place. You will still be able to make the place run. It tells me that while your pay in SC is pretty decent it also tells me that according to the marketplace you are overpaid. There would be plenty of SUPPLY of candidates to fill the DEMAND.
Don't take yourselves too seriously. Don't think because you are one of the highest paid police forces in the nation that it means you are also the best police force in the nation. Far from it. What it should tell you is that the city is forced to lower thr standards to the point of hiring the barely literate and those with criminal records just to maintain thr staffing levels. The more attractive candidates want no part of the job and who can blame them? If you want capable people you have to offer good pay.

Instead of bng jealous little -itches about what other people make, why don't you look to advance yourselves and earn more yourselves. Your goal should be to raise yourselves to the next level; not pull someone else down to yours.

You really believe that if SCPD lowered your salary by 25K there wouldn't be lines from Riverhead to Times Square looking for your job? Give me a break Jack Off. You don't even need a college degree. Yeah, yeah, most of you have degrees, even Master Degrees. No argument here.
Chances are SCPD gets a better quality of candidate that applies. But there would still be plenty who would come out for the test. Do you really think if the taxpayers had a choice they would pay the salaries you get.
I don't mind paying the salaries of NCPD. But I do mind paying those huge payouts when they retire. If given the chance I would reduce the payouts drastically - not the payscale. Appreciate what you have and stop complaining how great you are and under appreciated.

by your curiosity about my work.

If you were to stop the payouts at retirement, you would pay 2.5 times that amount thru the life of the cop. Think of this every day I dont take off is banked at .5 days. Every day I do is paid at full pay PLUS the cop to replace me. so you have 4 hours pay or 20 hours per day...its up to you.
Would anyone pay anything if they didnt have to?????
I'm appreciative of what I have. I dont complain here, in fatc I see few complaints from cops on this board. Its mostly non-cops.x

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Don't think because you are one of the highest paid police forces in the nation that it means you are also the best police force in the nation. Far from it. One would think you would keep your heads down low and not agitate with your F.U. messages to the people who pay your salary on blog boards. You guys really believe your own press releases.

NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT I do have a recollection of NCPD PBA Chief saying that, or was said to have done that. I am sure it was twisted out of context if he did say it. NO COP is going to say this, or would think it. Yup, I recollect that one. Didn't believe it then and don't believe it now. If a PBA guy wants to screw up the support of the public he couldn't have done a better job.
I really don't think the biggest cop hater in the world would believe a cop would NOT respond to such a call.

tooken out of context, the statement was to take thr time IF they werent sure where they were going look it up on the map etc. If you remember thats when they had the brainstorm to move p.o s around as the admin saw fit, thereby putting cops in unfamiliar areas.

You aren't going to garner much respect for cops if you continue to post copyrighted material without permission, and with unauthorized changes to boot.
That story, Confessions of a Police Officer, was written by a woman and it is copyrighted. You might want to remove your post until you ask her permission to use it...I'll be emailing her ASAP to report your copyright violation.

Is it all you do is to sit at the computer and wait for someone to post something so you can find fault with it.
Do you think anyone on this Board believes I wrote that piece. I copied and posted it as I saw it. I thought it was great. I thought it was a very real description of what most cops are really all about.
I haven't a clue who wrote it but whoever did write it I say thanks to the writer. If it was published I guess the writer would want others to see it. Surely, there is no monetary value in it, and I sure ain't making money posting it.

We are obviously dealing with a very small mind here. He can't come up with anything more than "pig" comments. He throws them around as if he thought of them himself. He still hasn't responded to the inquiry about his criminal record. I'm betting he's some social misfit belonging to one of the local volunteer arson departments. To add some excitement to his drab existance he starts some fires so he and the rest of his misfit buddies will have something to do on Saturday night, when he's not making "pig" comments on the Sch wart z Report. He already admitted he likes young children. He probably got caught. Yup, criminals hate us. It really breaks my heart.

Thanks to the ever vigiliant posters on this board I was made aware that I copied copyright materials to post on this board. As I am no friend of DA Tom Spota, may I suggest you forward my 'crime' to him to consider prosecution.
I would also like to thank that person for allowing me to contact the true writer of that wonderful document and to share two emails with her.
What I learned by her emails is that she was a 'real'cop who was severed from the service due to a job ending disability. That she still is a COP in heart.
Take it up with Spota and Jimmy Burke, I am sure they can come up with something. But I posted that letter from Nassau, not Suffolk. I would be happy to post it again from Suffolk County if you like.

FYI for a copyright violation, you must use the material for profit without permission. If you were actually violating the copyright, you would be sued for part of your gains. That is all. It is actually more costly to supoena your ip address from this board and then from your account, then any settlement the author could get.

Actually, you are incorrect. Since Postman used the entire work, and not, as you quoted, a "quotation" or a "small part," he IS violating copyright law which states that the copyright holder has
...the exclusive right to do and to authorize others to do the following:
* TO REPRODUCE THE WORK IN COPIES or phonorecords;
* TO PREPARE DERIVATIVE WORKS based upon the work;
* To distribute copies or phonorecords of the work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending;
* To perform the work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and motion pictures and other audiovisual works;
* TO DISPLAY THE WORK PUBLICLY, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and pictorial, graphic, or sculptural works, including the individual images of a motion picture or other audiovisual work; and
*In the case of sound recordings*, to perform the work publicly by means of a digital audio transmission.
There is only one mention of "sale" ie: monetary gain.
Postman reproduced a copy (digitally) AND displayed the work publicly (VERY publicly...to potentially millions of people.)

Like I told them they should get The Fearless Suffolk DA Thomas Spota and his Sancho Panza James Burke to investigate this case. And they wouldn't even have to lie because I am admitting to it right here.
Spota is very good at that. He arrested 10 nurses for endangering thr patients when they ended thr shifts, turned over the patients to the relief, and quit. The Fearless One took it upon himself to present the case to the grand jury and it was the Grand Jury that indicted the nurses, NOT HIM. Yeah, right. And then he got his In House Judge to say the indictment was proper. What he didn't tell the grand jury was the state agency charged with investigating alleged misconduct of nurses said the nurses did nothing wrong.

The real issue on this thread is not about copyright violations, as I doubt the person who originally cited that even gives a damn about it, it was just an excuse to further paint a police officer in a bad light. I see right through it and so does everyone else.
Anyone has a right to feel aggrieved by a police officer if, in thr mind, they felt that they were wronged. However, this same standard holds true for members of any profession, as all professionals are bound to ethical and legal standards that relate to the proper treatment of whom they serve.
It is both outrageous and ridiculous to paint all members of the same profession in a negative light because one has a bone to pick with a police officer. As a civilian I am a firm believer in the notion that such behavior results in negative morale for the really good cops that occupy the majority of the rank and file, and that such vicious libel does not do any good for the public who depends on these men and women every single day.
I would suggest that the starter of this thread take up his or her issue with ther a therapist, a member of the clergy, an attorney, or even a type of civilian complaint review board if this person feels so aggrieved by a police officer. This person needs a compassionate listener to validate his or her feelings, but at the same time, to let them know that it is both inappropriate and unfair to vent thr frustration by offending the average police officer who is giving, caring, hardworking, and frankly, very, very brave and courageous.
The use of the degrading term that this poster continues to direct at police officers lends credence to the theory that this person will be too pigheaded to accept this genuine and well-intentioned advice, but, at l it's here on the record, one more time, that this angry, ignorant, and ungrateful individual has a healthier and more productive alternative than to cop bash on message boards.

You attacked as though I was trying to get over by plagerizing someone else's work. The author of that fine piece took the time to post that this isn't the case at all. Pigheaded? You must be pigheaded and have your pighead up your ass.
AFTER you try the braille method look at your fingers and see if you have hair growing between the fingers. Then you should take it easy for a while so you don't go blind.

You are clearly WRONG, WRONG, WRONG WRONG !
I am now using your own words right back at you, and here they are:
"YOU SHOULD REALLY MAKE THE SWITCH BECAUSE YOU APPEAR TO BE BLIND".
That applies to YOU because I wrote the word THREAD, not POST!
Do you comprehend the difference??????? Allow me to explain:
I stated that the person who started this THREAD, bla, bla bla, regarding "another Long Island Pig", has issues, not the POST about the copyright thing. Do you see the difference, Helen Keller?
I could give a rat's ass about the copyright crap, as this entire THREAD was started by a cop basher and needs to be addressed by both civilians and cops who will not tolerate such an unfair blemish to the badge.
So, lesson here is: Learn to read before you pick your battles.

The president of the nassau county PBA Mr. Gary Dellarabba told patrol officers to take thr time when they recve calls that a baby stopped breathing as a negotiating ploy with Nassau County in order to extract a few more pennies from the county's empty pockets. So the confusion is that I'm talking about the NCPD on this one.

"copshatebabies" is both anti-union and anti-cop. This is the same filthy slob who keeps posting.
You disgusting anti-union greedy slobs do this all the time: You twist the words of bargaining unit representatives and lie, lie, lie, lie, lie, right through your crooked teeth, all for the benefit of your personal profit and gain, and that of your cronies.
This country was built on the backs of union laborers and has been historically protected by people who are brave enough to swear to protect and serve.
If you don't like the American way, go back to wherever it is that you came from, via a first class seat on TrollAirlines. Slob.
