View Full Version : Why Blacks dislike Republicans

Two more reasons why Blacks dislike Republicans popped up this week:

1. Bigmouth Limbaugh said on Sunday that the QB for the Eagles is overated because there are "social" concerns about Black QB's and Coaches. Ignoring that the NFL players have voted him to the Pro Bowl 4 times.

2. An upstate right wing talk show host was fired for calling the the mayor of Rochester ( a Black man running for CE) an Orangutang and playing monkey sounds in the backround. Then had the nerve to complain about bng fired and played the victim.

Anf you wonder WHY Blacks don't like/trust Republicans?

And Senator Robert Byrd was in the KKK, denouncing it only when it became politically advantageous to do so.

What's you point?

And, besides, I don't think Limbaugh's comments were racist. If anything he was accusing the media of bng racist for inflating McNabb's reputation over performance. McNabb, himself, said he sucked in the first two games this year.

Blacks who hate Republicans are conditioned by people such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and most in the Demoncratic Party to hate Republicans. There are many blacks, who are able to somehow see the Jackson and Sharpton race-baiters for what they are, and have joined the Republican Party.

Read this article by a Black economist if you want a perspective on how a "thinking" black man sees the issues:

Silly Letters by Thomas Sowell.

Oh, and Neal Boortz has this to say on the Limbaugh kerfuffle:

Quote:HAVE THE COURAGE TO DEBATE THE STATEMENT

Make no mistake about this .. no mistake at all. The whole reason that Rush Limbaugh is under fire for his comments on Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is simply because he is perhaps the nation's most prominent conservative ... and a white guy on top of it all! Limbaugh is seen by the left as a huge, almost insurmountable threat to thr designs on regaining control in DC.

"I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

Do you need any further clarification of what Limbaugh said? Do I have to break it down for you? OK ... step-by-step:

1. Donovan McNabb hasn't been a very good quarterback from the beginning.

Anything racist there? If there is, I can't find it. Do we now find ourselves at the point where you cannot criticize a black athlete without bng called a racist?

2. The National Football League has some social concerns.

Translation, there's a bit of political correctness in the NFL front office. I don't know if that's true or not. You tell me! Is there anything inherently wrong with bringing up the possibility?

3. Some sportswriters want to see a black quarterback do well.

Well now isn't that a shocking statement! Can you imagine that! A few weeks ago a female place kicker actually kicked a field goal in a Division 1A college football game. Do you think that it is at all possible that there were some sportswriters out there, maybe even some female sportswriters, who wanted to see that kick go through the uprights? Would that make these sportswriters sexist? So we find it perfectly reasonable to understand why a female sportswriter might want to see that gal kick that football, but you just can't imagine a black sportswriter wanting to see a black quarterback succeed? Come on, admit it. You went to government schools, didn't you?

4. Donovan McNabb has been getting more credit for the team's success than perhaps he deserves.

Maybe so, maybe not! I'm certainly not knowledgeable enough to comment on that. I couldn't name any Eagles player other than McNabb .. and if it weren't for this story I wouldn't even be able to name him. I'm just not that much of a fan. But can't a question like this be addressed to literally hundreds of players in each of the four major sports?

So .. there you go. Rush's statement broken down into four easily understandable statements, none of which is the slightest bit racially insensitive, let alone racist.

And now ... along comes Tennessee Democrat Harold Ford to share his wisdom with us on this issue. Congressman Ford, who is black, says he doesn't know if Limbaugh should have included race in his statement. Tell me, how in the hell can you try to make the point that the media, feeding on political correctness, wanted to see a black quarterback do well without mentioning in race? Ford also says that ESPN should fire Limbaugh immediately for the comment. Go over the four segments above one more time. Now tell me just which one of those statements constitutes an offense worthy of a firing! Maybe it was just time for Congressman Ford to renew his victim credentials.

Limbaugh crossed a politically correct line. Only liberals are allowed to bring race into any issue. When liberals mention race it is always a symbol and indication of thr undying love for and devotion to all who cannot claim whiteness. When conservatives bring race to the table it is always because they are closet racists and just want to keep thr boots on the black man's neck.

How about giving Limbaugh's statement a fair hearing? Make your case that McNabb has been all-pro from the beginning. Convince us that the NFL never gives any consideration to the dictates of political correctness. Convince me that sportswriters would never root for the success of an athlete who shares thr plumbing or skin color. Then you can explain how the Eagle's success is due to the brilliance of Donovan McNabb. But ... if your goal is to attack the messenger instead of to debate the message ... then perhaps there's a place for you on the editorial board of The Washington Post.

Bottom line? Blacks are told by Jackson, et. al., that they are inferior to whites because they need affirmative action and racial preferences to get ahead in an otherwise equal environment...even though there are many examples (Donovan McNabb and Clarence Thomas and Thomas Sowell bng three good examples) to the contrary. They're mad at conservatives because we see this as racial discrimination, which it is, and we seek to put an end to the ride and make people like Jesse Jackson go out and get a real job. ?Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.? - - President John Fitzgerald Kennedy

?We will make no distinction between those who committed these acts and those who harbor them.? - - President George W. Bush

Well, I guess judging from those two incidents its safe to say that ALL Republicans practice discrimination. Better yet, if what you say is true, then you must cheat on your wife. I mean, from the looks of your name you are a Dem and supporter of Clinton, so therefore it looks as though you are getting some BJ's from a significant other.

It all makes sense now!

....it comes down to MONEY!

If blacks had jobs made decent money and confident that when it comes to lay-offs they aren't the first ones shown the door THEY WOULD BE REPUBLICANS!!

Make no doubt about it..when a black person gains that financial foothold where he/she doesn't fear bng home-less in 6 months ..these blacks consider the republican party!

Now I know there are a lot of arguments stating that the democratic party were never good to blacks and are in fact racist (especially in the past). Yes that is true..but many of those politicins have sinced crossed over to the Republican party! I know blacks in general do not trust politicians period..but with Democrats there may be a chance..with Republicans..I have no chance!

As a black man I would love to see this country do away with affirmitive action! But affirmitive action must go simultaneously with racism! Republicans want to get rid of affirmitive action and leave the racism intact. And they assert this by saying racism is over...really? Ya coulda knock me over with feather!

Yes I blame the democratic party for many ills within the black community. In fact I blame thr policies in large part for the dis-proportionate percentage of single black parent! But I will turn a blind eye to all that when it comes to putting food on the table. Thats the first order of business! And blacks know they have no chance as a group with republicans. Now lets clarify something here.

With republicans there will always be the Condeleeza Rice's to point to. In fact something I'll never forget Ronald Reagan used Michael Jackson in the 80's to say..if MJ can make it all blacks should be able to make it..Really?

NOT EVEN THE WHITEST WHITE-MAN CAN COMPARE TO MICHAEL JACKSON!

None of you will ever live to go on a $1M daily shopping spree! And by-the-way Michael is physically whiter than most of you!

What the voting blacks want is what they had during the 90's. An atmosphere where thr work and perseverance can lead to fruitfull re-wards!

If white folks were as dessimated within the employment ranks as much as blacks are the last 2 years..bush would have been ..not re-called..not low in popularity...but literally assisinated by now!

I know many folks layed off at IBM, Lucent, HP many of the fortune 500 companies. I speak to these people and the story is the same...when a department is bng gutted the white folks remain the last to go!

IT CANNOT BE COINCIDENCE!!

You can talk about IRAQ, immigrants, protecting border, leaking cia secrects, stock market rise-fall, deficit....till the cows come home...NONE OF THAT MATTERS WHEN MY FAMILY IS FACED WITH HOME-LESS-NESS!

And that is the situation for the black man when white folks have to delay getting thr BOAT or HUMMER fora year!

He said the Eagles were strong because of thr defense. He admitted that McNabb was a factor, but the strongest aspect of the Eagles was thr defense. In order to call that racist, you would have to ignore the fact that the Eagles' starting defense is mostly black.

it was not meant to paint with a broad brush. the problem is for every Jack Kemp there are, in the press at l, 5 Limbaugh's.

this may have more to do with negative press getting more coverage than positive press.

when Rep. do not respond to comments like those it's no wonder Blacks dislike Rep.

I don't think it's a good thing for the nation that one party gets the overwhelming vote of any segment of the population. it doesn't bode well for the future. For ther party.

As for the last comment; if were only true

Here is the Eagles' starting defense:
98 Brandon Whiting
90 Corey Simon
97 Darwin Walker
94 N.D. Kalu
51 Carlos Emmons
53 Mark Simoneau
54 Nate Wayne
23 Troy Vincent
21 Bobby Taylor
32 Michael Lewis
33 Clinton Hart

Out of those 11, Mark Simoneau is the only white individual. So, Clintonista, it is true.

Hey, man, the Dems -- especially conservative Dems like Stevie -- don't need the black vote. We ther assume they are going to blindly vote Democratic or not show up at all.

Don't like it. Go start your own party! Oh wait, we got rid of that party.

In Suffolk, the Dems almost never run black candidates. This year the GOP is running more of them.

Thanks for the help in the '70s, African-American friends, but we don't need you now. Bye bye!

Go Stevie!
