I have noticed that every Monday-Friday 8am-4pm there is 2 barges going back and forth to Davis Park from Patchogue, carrying loads of sand. I have noticed this for a couple of weeks. Who knows how long it has been going on...I calculated the sand to be about $10,000 per load X 10 loads a day.....

I am sure you can do the math. This is costing Brookhaven residents millions. Why are they replenishing 1 beach when we are about to enter a recession?

Year after year the tides bring and takeaway sand....It's mother nature doing her thing.

Does a current Brookhaven politician have a house on the beach?
Ocean front maybe?????

I don't know, just asking....

You got it!!! $10,000 is a lowball estimate per load.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one to wonder about sand barges
I think this should be investigated. About a month ago I inquired to the workers there what was going on, and they scattered. Seemed awful suspicious. I could be wrong but something seemed amiss
Perhaps a story for LI Advance, or Snoozeday.
Where are they getting this sand from anyway?
