What most people don't realize is that these people are just like you and I... except they are the ones chosen to make those hard decisions that most of us in reality would rather let someone else make... so we can complain about it. They do the best they can do given the situations and circumstances involved. If we could all see into a crystal ball... we wouldn't need a leader... but we can't and so we entrust our livelyhoods to those people. Its just too bad that 'politics' is more important to some folks than the place they call HOME. How soon we seem to forget.....

Anyway... looks like we are in for a slump... its that part of the cycle it looks like. I just hope I can ride it out long enough to keep my home.

You seem to have your priorities in order. Thats the bottom line for me also..the economy!

For months now I've been saying that I can understand why a rich guy would vote for bush. What I don't get is why don't the average guy like myself understand thr's nothing in it for them!

Why the F#CK as an American do I want to tie my faith to IRAQ?

Have we not learned anything from the Israelis? We see for decades now how those people display might and rattle there sabre all day..yet 50 years later..thr ass is still getting stuffed by the hap-less Palestinians!

Is that what we want in America? Though I cannot convince anyone on this board otherwise..I really no democrat..I'm just anti-bush (whom I regrettably voted for in 2000)!

But I'll take a President who's only getting his 'nob polished by an intern and taking care of business than some RAWHIDE KID anyday!

Census Bureau: Poverty Up, Incomes Down

Poverty increased for a second straight year in 2002 with 1.7 million more people dropping below the poverty line, the Census Bureau said Friday. Incomes were down, too, fresh evidence of the struggling economy's effect on Americans' pocketbooks.

The poverty rate was 12.1 percent last year, up from 11.7 percent in 2001. That meant nearly 34.6 million people were living in poverty.

Median household income declined 1.1 percent between 2001 and 2002 to $42,409, after accounting for inflation. That means half of all households earned more than that amount, and half earned less.

Before the two years of increase, poverty had fallen for nearly a decade to 11.3 percent in 2000, its lowest level in more than 25 years. Income levels increased through most of the 1990s, then were flat in 2000.

Bureau estimates showed poverty increased significantly for several segments of the population that could be crucial in the 2004 presidential election: blacks, married couples, suburbanites and people in the Midwest.

Thats right...there really was no recession. Rather we witnessed a great big sham executed on the American worker. A sham that ends in a great transfer of wealth!

What does it say when in a "recession" those at the very top made more than during the booming economy!

Do you really believe Dick Grasso was the only who considered himself 'blessed' (thats the answer he gave when asked by reporters) for taking $140M pay package?

Now watch the 'slight-of-hand' trick with the $87B slated for Iraq improvement. Watch as that money makes the big loop from the tax-payers to those who have connection to bush and cheney!

And as you see this transpire listen to the rhetoric spewed by bush to "DISTRACT" the American people as this occurs.

It is any speech indundated with the words..Iraq.. 9/11, resolve..win...war...wmd..evil...safety!
