Newsday On Drugs

Newsday recently wrote an editorial lamenting that more blacks proportionally are in jail for drug related offenses than whites. So, it would imply that Newsday wishes to jail more white folks for drug crimes. Yet, Newsday endorsed Eliot Spitzer, Tom Suozzi, and Kathleen Rice for public office when all three had admitted to past illegal use of marijuana, an illegal substance. Unless Mr. Spitzer, Mrs. Suozzi, and Ms. Rice simply found the pot on a dresser, admission to poseession is tantamount to admission that they had participated in a sale of this product, since the sale of drugs would include "passing a joint," regardless of whether the end user actually paid for the substance. So, why is it that Newsday is requesting an investigation and arrest of these three Democratic politicians for thr admitted drug use, instead of endorsng them. It stinks that rags like Newsday can chide Andy Pettite for using a legal substance once before it was even outlawed in his sport to overcome injury. But the NYS Governor, Nassau County Executive, and Nassau District Attorney cannot be grilled for thr admitted past drug use? And who are the idiots stoned and stupid enough to vote for these clowns in the first place? Where is Jimmy "the Trick" Klurfeld's moral outrage over our decadent, self absorbant clod politicians.
