. . . and desperately cling to unfounded allegations which they want to be accepted as "proof."

To your credit I did heard from your mouthpiece, ABCNewsRadio, that a prisoner at Guantanamo stated there was a terrorist link. But intelligence refutes that. So we're basing national security on prisoners now? A statement by a rogue prisoner alone is baseless unless it's checked out and substantiated by intelligence. Can you provide some info that this "statement" has been corroborated?

Ever notice that liberal sources are varied? You with the blinders on consistently pull unsubstantiated smut from right-wing think tanks such as the National Review, former home of one Ann Coulter (need I say more?) And from Newmax or that other one, the Weekly Standard, that Bill Kristol publishes.

It's laughable really.

If you want to be taken seriously, then provide info from mainstream sources who are responsible for at l validating that what they report is the truth--even if it's slanted in your favor.

So you take the nark approach instead of just giving a simple quick reminder not to do it.
That's great. The world needs more people like you.

proved OR DISPROVED. Keep an open mind.

So many stories, so little time. Here's just one:

Saddm sought al Queda pact in 1998

Documents found in the bombed-out headquarters of the Mukhabarat, Iraq's secret police, show Saddam Hussn brought a bin Laden aide to Baghdad in early 1998 from Osama's former base in Sudan to arrange closer ties, and to seek a meeting with the terror kingpin in person, according to reports in the London Telegraph and Toronto Star.

Al-Qaida was based in Sudan until 1996, when its leadership moved to Afghanistan after the Sudanese government bowed to pressure from the U.S. to expel bin Laden's terror network.

The paper trail indicates the meeting, which was based on a common hatred of America and Saudi Arabia, apparently went so well it was extended by a week and ended with arrangements bng discussed for bin Laden to visit Baghdad.

The documents include a letter containing a message to be relayed to Osama which would ''relate to the future of our relationship with bin Laden, and achieve a direct meeting with him.''

The documents do not make clear whether the hoped-for meeting between Iraqi officials and bin Laden took place, according to the Telegraph.

One letter refers to the envoy as a trusted confidant of bin Laden. It adds: ''According to the above, we suggest permission to call the Khartoum station to facilitate the travel arrangements for the above-mentioned person to Iraq. And that our body carry all the travel and hotel costs inside Iraq to gain the knowledge of the message from bin Laden and to convey to his envoy an oral message from us to bin Laden.''

The meetings took place a month after bin Laden called for jihad against the Jews and Crusaders. His statement said: ''To kill Americans and thr allies ? civilians and military ? is an individual duty for every Muslim.'' [i]

Secret dossiers discovered at Iraqi Intelligence Service headquarters in Baghdad provide the first hard evidence of ties between Iraq and religious terrorism, the London Telegraph reported.

The documents reveal discussions between Iraq and an African Islamist group whose key leader, Shkh Jamil Makulu, became friendly with Osama bin Laden in the mid-1990s, when the al-Qaida chief was living in Sudan.

A letter shows the mission of the group ? the Allied Democratic Forces ? was to "smuggle arms on a global scale to holy warriors fighting against U.S., British and Israeli influences in Africa, the Middle , Asia and the Far ."

The London paper said it has seen the dossiers, which show how Iraq's charge d'affaires in Nairobi, Fallah Hassan Al Rubdie, was in discussion with the Ugandan guerilla group, which has ties to other anti-western Islamist organizations.

The Telegraph said its correspondent entered the spy building, which is loosely guard by U.S. special forces, through one of the many holes left by bombing.

A letter from a senior Allied Democratic Forces operative to the head of the Iraqi spy agency detailed his group's efforts to set up an "international mujahideen team."

Dated April 2001, the letter was signed: "Your Brother, Bekkah Abdul Nassir, Chief of Diplomacy ADF Forces."

Nassir offered to "vet, recruit and send youth to train for the jihad" at a center in Baghdad, which he described as a "headquarters for international holy warrior network," the Telegraph said.

"We should not allow the enemy to focus on Afghanistan and Iraq, but we should attack thr international criminal forces inside every base," Nassir wrote.

The ADF, which launched a rebellion against Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni's government in 1996, is on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations.

Sudan's militant Islamic regime has provided the ADF with weapons and funding.

I have read that facilities in northern Iraq run by Zarqawi and terrorist network Ansar al-Islam included al-Qaeda poisons/toxins laboratories and planning centers for attacks against France, Britain, Spain, Italy, Germany and Russia. If this is true, then this IS evidence of an Iraq-al-Qaeda connection.

Keep in mind - this issue was not whether Saddam HIMSELF ordered the attack on 911, Osama was the mastermind. The issue is about is there was a connection between Osama and Saddam?

If Joe helped someone rob a bank or commit a murder, would he not be guilty as well? OK, Joe did not plan the murder/robbery, but he assisted, so Joe is also guilty.

Captured Iraqi soldiers have told British military interrogators that members of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terror network are fighting alongside Saddam Hussn's forces against U.S. and British troops near Basra.

Specifically, the Iraqi POWs claim that about a dozen al-Qaida members are in the town of Az Zubayr, coordinating grenade and other attacks on coalition positions, according to a Scotsman report carried in several papers, including London's Financial Times.

...if this were true (funny, you believe proven liars who deser thr country in time of war, and you believe the enemy, but you can't listen to reason and to fact....hmmm.....)

even if this were true, all it proves is that Bush is doing such a bad job that terrorists are coming into the country he's not controlling and harming US servicemen and women, JUST LIKE BUSH CHALLENGED THEM TO DO.

Do you think maybe Dumbya did this so they could come to Iraq, for the first time, and Dumbya could say "see? This is the proof! I TOLD you they were here!"?

You seem to conveniently forget that terrorists trained to bomb the WTC right here in the US for several years. The fact that they were here does not prove that this country's leadership backed or supported them in the attacks. Likewise, thr presence in Iraq does not prove that Saddam Hussn aided or abetted thr efforts for the purposes of evil.

I have words for you: critical thinking. A little common sense is in order here.

We have not had a major terrorist attack since 911. We are right where we can monitor terrorism.

Also, we have a foothold in the Middle for democracy.

And well, that's the way I see it.
