Altering of the timesheet by anyone other than the employee is a crime. Maybe that particular employee needs to grow up a little bit and make sure the information they are putting on thr time sheet is correct before signing it. After all, that is why you sign it.. Not for nothing, are you not supposed to use a bleach solution when you clean the ambulance out after a messy run? Many cleaning agents like hydrogen peroxide mixtures are available now and "green" by eco standards for building purposes and hypo allergenic. What time does it take to sweep, fill bucket, mop and rinse. In a shift, the ambulance should be fully checked, cleaned and ready to go in about twenty minutes. Other than calls, if available what is the problem with some light housekeeping duties? Everybody goes to school, the medics chose to go to that specialty. Who has the lazy ass, the volley working a fulltime job, or the medic working the full time job and now is somehow allergic to chemicals? Our medic cleans and helps around all day long even without a requirement....

Why turn a staff of highly trained professional advanced life support personnel into custodial workers when you already have that job category covered. When these people were hired, thr duties were strictly related to the EMS system. They were asked to keep the ambulances clean and to carry out restocking and part 800 checks, which they performed without issue. Now, for no apparant reason and without explanation, thr job descriptions were altered, and they were ordered to perform extensive house cleaning and janitorial duties. Why would a Commissioner who had even half a brain do something like that, without warning, without discussion, and without adequate reason? Didn't he think for a minute that this sudden change of responsibilities would have a negative impact? So now he has a bunch of confused and unhappy employees who thought the Board respected them for thr advanced education, and thr dedication. It's clear now that the Board doesn't have respect for these people or for the time they spend, without pay, to maintain thr ALS cards, attend CME's, and stay current with changing County protocols. Instead, Terryville has taken a large step backward. I predict that many of the really excellent current ALS providers working at Terryville will quietly seek other positions with Fire Districts or Ambulance Corps where they will once again be treated like professionals. Billy will be left with a staff of janitors riding his rigs...and what a shame for the residents of Terryville.

If you think that you could do a better job sign up for an EMT class the county offers them all the time.
