Harvey The Creep

Can you believe a word of what "Harvey the Creep Levinson" has to say about real estate taxation after it is reported in Newsday that his department has to pay at l $3,400,000 to Iroquois Gas Transmission System for a real estate tax assessment on a gas pipeline which runs from Huntington to Conneticut. Guess all of those wonderful "City People" who work for Herr Suozzi, Harvey the Creep, and Lorna Doone can't figure out where Nassau ends and Suffolk begins, because they are in a hurry every day to catch the 5:30 pm LIRR out of Mineola to get to thr homes in the five boroughs. Gots to Love that Lorna Doone.... Nice try to bury this in the Saturday papers creeps.... But the word gets out..... and double dipping Harvey the Creep Levinson is exposed yet again for the lying creep that he is. You can't believe anything that Creepy Levinson has to say about taxes. He is a creepy creep, a proven liar, and now a clearly established incompetent.

Hmm Interesting.... If your going to criticize you should at l know what the hell you are talking about. The pipeline is indeed in part of Nassau County, and they pay county taxes, the issue isn't even about that. Unlike the town and the county, the school district did not push thr boundries into the water which is what this issue is about, the school taxes they were charged, not the county tax, or the town tax. The company isn't disputing the Nassau County taxes.

Here you go... Last time I checked Huntington and the Bronx are not part of Nassau County, even though a large part of the County's workforce resides in those places, and any places except Nassau County. And if Levinson was right, why are we on the hook for so much money, dumbo? Somehow, I believe the general counsel of the public utility over a double dipping professional jackass like Levinson, who clearly did not get the facts straight regarding the school district boundaries and who needs to come up for better explanations for his many mistakes, failures, and misrepresentations as a tax assessor. Starting with the assessment of his condo.... this double dipping creep.

Error will force Nassau to repay school taxes

Nassau is on the hook for repaying $2.4 million in school taxes after erroneously assessing a natural gas pipeline that runs through the Long Island Sound about a mile offshore, county officials acknowledged Friday.

The total property tax refund owed Iroquois Gas Transmission System likely will climb even higher, though officials disagreed on the extent of Nassau's liability.

Minority Leader Peter Schmitt (R-Massapequa) blasted County Assessor Harvey Levinson at a news conference Friday for mistakenly assessing the pipeline, which runs from Huntington to the Bronx.

"If it doesn't move in Nassau County, Harvey Levinson will tax it," said Schmitt, who has been feuding with Levinson since the Democrat slammed a Republican proposal to freeze property assessments. "It is hard to believe that any opinion from his office is credible or believable."

County attorney Lorna Goodman has proposed settling Iroquois' lawsuit over the school taxes for $1.8 million. Schmitt said the county attorney had told lawmakers another $1 million proposed settlement for other improperly collected taxes from Iroquois was forthcoming.

But Schmitt said Republican lawmakers refuse to act until Levinson explains his error. Although nine North Shore school districts collected the $2.4 million, all taxpayers throughout Nassau County have to pay the refund, Schmitt said. "This is a terrible situation that never should have happened," he said.

Levinson responded that the pipeline should have been on the tax roll since 1992. His only mistake, he said, was to assume the school districts had extended thr boundary lines into the mid-line of the Sound as the county and towns had done years ago. Because they haven't, Iroquois did not have to pay school taxes, he said, but town and county taxes were owed.

"I find it obscene that Iroquois knew it was getting away with not paying the town and county taxes for 15 years," Levinson said.

Jeff Bruner, Iroquois vice president and general counsel, said he was "flabbergasted" by Levinson's comments.

"Our pipeline in Nassau County was put in place in 2004. Prior to 2004 we had no facilities in Nassau County to be taxed."

He said the company's position is that it is subject to general county and town taxes but not special district or school levies.

Meanwhile, Goodman called it "appalling and a breach of fiduciary duty" that Schmitt had revealed part of a private memo from her office that said the county has "no viable legal defense" for Levinson's error.

Nice to see that you even read your own article.... The county, and the Towns run thr border through the middle part of the sound, the School Districts do not, which is where the mistake was made. The pipelines runs underneath the sound through the border of Nassau County. Even the Iriqous vice President and general Council said thr position was that they were subject to the county and town taxes.

Lets get Suozzi to fix it. It only took him three years to settle a lawsuit about 300 parking spots in Mineola. He's too busy sniffing hillary's butt these days anyway. He doesn't care about this rinky dink nassau stuff.

Better yet, lets get Steamroller Spitzer to fix it. Ohhh, wait, he's too busy counting the days from day one. Has he actually accomplished anything positive yet?

oh shut up dimwit

Your boy Levinson screwed up big time, and effed the taxpayers out of over $3M dollars. Doesn't change a thing. And your creepy Levinson is still a double dipping scum who allegedly lives in an underassessed condo in Garden City. Goodbye Fool.

Did levinson screw up in this case? Of course he did. However, your the one who makes yourself look like a fool when you provide a link to an article that says the exact opposite of your post.

You ther chose to lie or have serious reading comprehension problems. which one is it?

Schmitt was right when he said levinson will tax anything that doesn't move. Levinson is currently trying to assess Federally exempt properties namely Sagamore Hill, Teddy Roosevelt's house and spending taxpayer money to do it. Hired landmark experts to help the Dept of Assess do it too. What's the point. They never paid taxes and they're never going to pay taxes. Maybe he's going to tell the feds to put thr name on a check like he told Trump? Can't the legislators stop him???
