Hmmmmm, I heard the US warned the UN they needed more security. Last time I checked all over the world each country protects its own. You know Russian troops protect Russian embassy, American troops gaurd American embassy etc..
Last time I checked the UN has thr own little military force to do these kind of things. So Bush probably told Koffi "I told you so" and Koffi got right to work on running tail between his legs from Iraq.

Bush interrupted a round of golf last week to take a call from UN Secretary General Kofi Annan about the bombing of UN HQ in Iraq.
Annan cancelled his own vacation and got right to work.
Bush continued his vacation, interrupting it only to go on a trip so full of political fund-raising that his campaign had to pay for the ENTIRE trip.
Message: Bush Cares.
About what, I have no idea.
(thank you Rodney).
By the way, why can't you understand that a brilliant dedicated selfless patriot with whom you disagree HAS to be better for the country than a stupid greedy drunk treasonous moron who panders to your worst side?

"Trying to eliminate Saddam, extending the ground war into an occupation of Iraq, ...would have incurred incalculable human and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible. We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq. The coalition would instantly have collapsed, the Arabs deserting it in anger and other allies pulling out as well. Under those circumstances, there was no viable ?exit strategy? we could see, violating another of our principles. Going in and occupying Iraq,?..would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression that we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the United States could concvably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different--and perhaps barren--outcome."
Gee, I wonder what partisan monster out to destroy President Bush could have come up with such a quote? Whoever could it be?????
