Maybe Howie got his big old warchest from shaking down the same vendors who contribute to the County. Look at the huge donations he recved from Triad Group before he audited them. Say, isn't accepting political contributions from firms you audit a conflict of interest? WHY THE HELL DOESN'T NEWSDAY RUN A STORY ABOUT THE NASSAU COUNTY COMPTROLLER ACCEPTING POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE COMPANIES HE AUDITS. AND WHO IS SHAKING DOWN WHOM HERE?
