I think the conservatives' charges about liberals calling them dumb are founded in something that perhaps they don't even see. It's not a question of dumb vs smart. It's a continuum, really.

I won't use technical terminology, because I know how academia irks conservatives...they have no problem getting on an airplane or undergoing surgery, which are liberal academic outgrowths, but.....


You can be "not dumb" and still be "not smart." And you can appear to be "smart" when in fact you are really not that bright at all, without bng "dumb."

Yes Karen, this shoe DOES fit for GW Bush, and for Dan Quayle. As was referenced already, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it is a duck. Yes, George W. Bush is judged alongside some great men, no doubt, but bng judged, with our line of Presidents bng the standard, is something that is inescapable, and it is something that happens when you step up to the plate and become an American President.

NYURepublican makes a poor argument. It would be no different than someone named NYUDemocrat whining every time someone mentioned Clinton's sexual jaunt with Monica Lewinsky and then quoting a Leftist author, with words like:
