From what I have read she doesn't deserve a Bronze Star. A Purple Heart is for someone that has been injured.

The fact is Lynch was not the only soldier to recve a bronze star. Spec Johnson ( The black woman from Texas) was shot in both legs and recved a purple heart, prisioner of war, and bronze star medals. PFC Miller, who saved all of the prisioners by killing 9 Iraqi's recved a POW medal and a silver star. Each soldier did thr duty and deserves honor and respect for thr service.

I must admit however that if Miller had movie star looks he might have gotten a lot more attention from the media.

from what I have read does not rate a bronze star. It is not about serving your country that rates a bronze star. Not even about bng put in a horrible situation. But bng put in an awful situation and doing something about it to help you and your fellow brothers and sisters.

There is no love loss in this family for the bush regime. yet I believe what Jessica Lynch did like EVERY OTHER GI is a brave thing. She did not ask for the attack anymore than the she asked for the media hype.

I also should commend her on saying (in her inerviews) that she felt used by the media and the stories they manufactured were just that..stories.

The fact that she was given money and book deals etc..says more about us as a society more than anything else. For example I saw one adult male (at one of her book signings) spoke about her much the way you would expect a 16 year old speak after seng a celebrity. Thats stupid...and this idiot obviously has little regard for the same GI's we see returning from Iraq every day.

That more than anything 'irks' me the wrong way. The fact that adults (forget the kids) are so led by what the media tells us to believe..I find it so ridiculous!

This hollywood mello-drama..this need to be populor or associate with 'media defined winner' AT ANY COST is becoming a danger to America.

It is partly why we are out of touch with the rest of the civilized world and it is what may cause bush to win despite doing such a horrific job of managng the country.
