Is it too late to get someone to primary him? Who are the repulbicans putting up. This guy has to be vulnerable. He is a convicted criminal, who was suspended from the practice of law, and now he has apparently slandered an honest hardworking local businessman in his greed to suck up to a constitutient (see Saturday's Newsday for the details).
What is wrong with this guy? He is a stain on the Democratic party and we must get rid of him before he makes a bid for higher office.

Your post is insane. Honest Business Man indeed.
Dave Denenberg showed great courage and integrity standing up for his constituents, who clearly were the victims of public corruption. This has been PROVEN by the Town themselves, as reported by Newsday and Channel 12. The inspectors were caught covering and approving Baumblit's construction work and issued CO's. This work has been described as shoddy, with dangerous conditions, left behind by a well to do connected builder. Usually these guys all stick together and screw unsuspecting homeowners who act in good faith. Now while that isn't an unusual problem homeowners are faced with when confronted with this type of corruption,,,,,,,,,is unusual seng homeowners publicly fighting back in the Press, with Legislators involved and in court. Baumblit's strategic move against this legislator and NC is just too transparent. He should save his legal fees for the defense of 2 lawsuits so far against him. He probably should pay the legal fees for his inspector friends as well who will plead poverty.
The democratic party needs to show thr support for an excellent legislator and back him against opponents like you. If he aspired to it he would make a great Town Supervisor. I can think of no one better to cleanup the town's corrupt activities then Dave Denenberg.

Wow Dave - great response. When his attorneys subpoena this board, I hope with your "engineering" degree you did a better job covering your tracks than you did with the petition crimes. Too bad you didnt do time on that one, than you might have learned some tricks to be a really competent criminal.

The bottom line is Dave goes to bat for his constituents. I am not sure who the heck you people are who are posting on this site, but you probably don't live in this district. I am a registered republican and am proud to say the only democratic i vote for his dave denenberg. Political views aside, if he says he's going to do something, he does it. He's a man of his word and if you need help with something, he helps you out and doesn't check your party affiliation first like some as$holes (yeah, that's you Tony Santino). His campaign slogan is "No one fights harder" and it's 100% accurate. I see him at the Merrick train station at l two or three times a month handing out information material... and this is during the off years!! No one else does that! The guy is a beloved man in our district and you guys are fools if you think he's not getting re-elected. He'll pull 75% againsts the loser Mondellow is putting up--yeah, I saw you with your hand-written "My name is" tag at the Bellmore fair. Good luck there buddy!!

I completely agree with your post. Too bad Dave Denenberg isn't our legislator. Legislator Denenberg helped us, by helping his constituents, more than anyone has thus far.
We had a similar unfortunate home improvement nightmare involving a contractor, the town's building inspectors and other public officials. The Town took no constructive action until these matters went public and Dave Denenberg stepped up to the plate.
Dave Denenberg is the only local public official I have seen fight for his constituents.

I've seen first hand how far Denenberg will go to help his constituents and it's pretty far. I've heard him in legislature hearings and he's not taking any politico's BS just because it's the same party. He ripped Levinson to shreds. The legislators don't get paid enough money to stick thr neck out for no reason.

Problem is he is dishonest and out for himself. He went after that contractor not because he gives a crap about the constituient but because he thought (stupidly) that he would get good press.

Too bad he can't sue for defamation against this post. He did the right thing and for the correct motives.
THANKFULLY actions were taken against the building inspectors, who were the dishonest parties here along with thr contractor friends. Finally, the Town acted in the interest of public safety. Remedial actions wouldn't have been taken without Dave Denenberg going public. I speak from my own unfortunate experiences with Town Officials.
Now as for contractors, they get away with poor and dangerous workmanship, since the written word of our trusted public officials is rarely challenged, is taken at face value, which explains how and why shoddy construction is permitted and reoccurs. Contractors rely on the building inspectors. So do property owners. In theory all parties interests and the public's saftey are protected.
Murray would not have called for rnspection of hundreds of homes, with multiple complaints against inspectors, if public pressure wasn't brought to bear. Doubtful the Town will ever fully disclose thr findings.
The bad guys were alleged to be the contractor and Town Officials, not Legislator Dave Denenberg.
