Change Babylon

In the 15th District Suffolk County - We have not seen Elie Mystal for the last three years and now with a competitive election upon us we get two "informational" flyers in the last 3 months. Nothing from this man for three years and now he burning up my tax money. Do the Democrats think our district doesn't see wasted taxpayer money by a nervous politician. For the last three years when you called his office you ther recved no answer at all or a promise to get back to you later that never happened. Now they hire a new high priced assistant in the last three months before the election and hope the people won't remember the last three years. Its time to change Babylon and we can start with Elie Mystal.....he was a mistake from the begining and now he is wasting more taxpayers money in an attempt to show something at the last minute.

agreed.
agreed.
I don't know the man or Babylon issues but sounds exactly like what goes on everywhere. If you care to read about waste in Brookhaven, you can read our web site:
and click the
In the next couple of months we will be opening the site up for other local municipalities who wish to post thr problems and nightmare issues about local government and wasted tax dollars. Feel free to e-mail us if your interested.
PS....
Here is an example of one of my notes I posted which document the lack of response from the new Town of Brookhaven government (democrats). They can talk a good game but its the same old crap:
October 12, 2006
It’s been a month and a half since I started this web site and began my efforts to contact the Town for information. What first appeared to be a new administration that would be more open has turned into the same old government of ignoring the voice of those who elected them.
Perhaps we are a little impatient? Perhaps 4 phone calls without a return phone call is not bng patient enough? Perhaps 7 e-mails without a reply is not giving them enough time to respond? Perhaps I am too insignificant in the whole scheme of things for the town to respond to me? I’ll keep trying different ways to get through and post any information that I can obtain.
In particular, there is a proposed tax increase coming after 2 years of ZERO taxes. Yet, we have a surplus that could be used to continue to “return money” to residents in the form of no new taxes. After all, the town took in much more revenues than they needed. Why not give it back to the people or use it to offset future spending needs?
Feel free to e-mail us if you know of anyone at the Town that I can contact who will be responsive. Thank you.

This wasteful practice may be going on here in Babylon and elswhere, but we don't have to accept it. Throw the bums out....its time for a change. Don't let the existing politicians define what's acceptable behavior. We as a society have allowed ourselves to accept such a low level of honesty and character in our politicians that we are constantly choosing between the best of two bad choices. Its time for a change........

I agree but it can't be done with just you and me. No one really cares....it is almost like people like to complain....I wish I knew how to get more people involved but, sadly, most have thrown up thr hands in disgust. All thats left to vote (on the local level) are the people that have been given jobs by the major political parties. add to this the fact that the dems are going to try to give illegals the right to vote, our fate is just about sealed!

What would wake up John Q Public is a full blown campaign about government ethics. Every Town should have written and adopted them by now. If every regular 'Joe' knew about them there would be alot more whistle blowing and finger pointing which makes EVERY politician nervous !
