I thought Felix's loss would wake the GOP up. Then I thought Romain's results would really wake the GOP up.
Then I looked up Naive in the dictionary and saw my own picture!
The problem is the stupidity in Brookhaven and . As long as these retarded supervisors keep looking out for themselves and not the party, the misery will continue. No organization means poor results
Manger is going down the same road as Grucci. His campaign is bng run by a bunch RNC installed red state hicks who don't understand the local politics and certainly don't know the 1st CD history. What a f*&@ing mess.

1. Raise money by telling people that it is important to raise money to ensure that the "right people" are elected to public office.
2. put some of the money in your pocket.
3. Give the rest of the money to your friends.
4. Tell your friends that they now owe you.
5. Repeat Steps 1. through 4.

i have an idea for these republicans - ACT LIKE REPUBLICANS
stop raising taxes, stop appearing with dems for photos, stop airing commercials that say "after you vote for who you want for president, vote for me", stop acting like a bunch of lefty weenies!
you are losing because conservative republicans have stopped voting for you!

That's what I've been saying. If a registered republican is working for the current administration they can't be trusted and are disloyal to the party. Get rid of them. Move them aside and when the republican's take back our counties, and we will, there will be no jobs for them.

Perhaps you've been living in a closet. That might explain why you talk about "when the Republicans take back the Counties." We republicans don't have a snowflakes chance in hell of "taking back" ther County for at l the next ten years. Not only has Democrat registrations greatly outpaced Republican registrations in both counties for the past five years, but Mondello and crew have alienated enough voters to ensure that the Long Island GOP will carry about a much clout as a dead pansy. Our only hope is that they remove Mondello, as discussed in todays Newsday. If that happened, I might actually start attending committee meetings again.

The republicans can take back the counties regardless of voter enrollment. Look at the votes in the past elections. People WILL CROSS PARTY LINES if those candidates resonate with the voters. republicans have to go back to bng republicans. Most voters on LI tend to still lean conservative in thr views. Candidates must get thr message out in a positive light. explain what your vision and plan is for the office you are running. If your opponent, has stated things or voted in ways contrary to what you are running for, get that out too, but the more positive you are, I think the better the chance of election.

Then how do you explain that John Kerry, Al Gore and Bill Clinton have all won both Nassau and Suffolk Counties?
How do you explain that four out of the five Congresspeople are Democrats?
How do you explain that Chuck Schumer, a dyed in the wool liberal, won Long Island with 70% of the vote?
How do you explain Steve Levy and Tom Suozzi?
How do you explain Howard Wtzman and Thomas Spota?
The problem with the Republicans on this Board and in the two counties is that they no longer know the constituency. Ask Rick Lazio.
You guys sit around on this board and in your Republican CLub meetings and think that is how the people of Long Island think. It is YOU how are out of touch - not the Democrats. You can deny this all you like, the election results show you have no idea.

As I stated above, Democratic voter registrations in Nassau County have greatly outpaced Republican registrations, consistently, for the past five years. Despite this trend, there are still more registered Republicans that Democrats in Nassau. The problem is that voters on both sides view Mondello and Gullota as the two who all but destroyed the County, and that belief has not been dimmed by the passage of time. That is why, no matter how much Suozzi screws up, and no matter how incompetent Jay Jacobs is, the Democrats will maintain a strangle-hold on control over Nassau for the next ght years at a minimum. The only prayer we Republicans have is if Mondello goes, along with his legacy as it is percved by the voters. Every day he stays, he drives the Nassau GOP deeper into the ground. If you have any doubt, just look at the experienced & well-respected judges who lost thr seats on the bench this last election.
