Is it just me, or has nobody else recved thr petitions yet?

Normally, I would have been out walking by now, but no word from my leader.

Probably next week after Reagan's funeral.

Mondello will send his minions to the cemeteries.

Funny thing. The Dem petitions were bng distributed on Monday. Oh yeah. I forgot. The Dems get thr petitions unsigned and actually go out and carry them.

Wait a few more days for the GOP bosses to get all the petitions filled in. Then the committee people can sign the witness statements.

The hold up are the conservatives, balking at backing McDonough and several other liberal leaning Staties. Like to offer voters a third chioce for a change.

That is the cleaver, behind the scenes machinations of the indominatble Tom Suozzi who has worked out a deal with the local Conservative Party to send the Republicans a message.

It is all part of the two prong plan. Tom is primarying Sidikman and knows he can't beat a Republican state senator, so with the help of Pat Curcio, Roger Bogstead and other conservative leaders, several republicans will not get the conservative nod.

That's what you get when you mess with the NEXT GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK!!!!!

The archaic and unethical cross endorsements that stymie the works here in NYS ought to go the way of the manual typewriter!

Where else can a Liberal Republican run with the Conservative Line, like Balbonowitz.

Well, the petitions are out for a week now. I'd heard from my "executive leader" that the delay concerned a last minute decision concerning Family Court.

Hardly earth shaking, but some folks always seem to need something to get them riled up.

A Conservative Party source told me that they intend to circulate petitions for all the GOPers, but may hold back filing for at l one state senator.

OK. I'll bite. I've heard of case law where a party leader was given completed petitions by a witness who intended for them to go to a candidate. In that case, a court compelled the leader to fork them over. But ILLEGAL you say? OK. What law would a leader break if he decided not to file?

This has happened frequently where petitions have been circulated and not filed. There are no laws concerning this.

I do think the executive committee can vote to compel the collected petitions to be filed or not. They can also hold back the Wilson-Pakula's (spelling?) if the candidate is a member of another party.

I have also seen petitions collected and improperly filed and that isn't illegal. Unfortunately stupidity isn't a crime, or else most of the party leaders and most of the elected officials would be repeat felons.

District Court
06-23-2004, 02:12 PM
Democrats Norman St. George, Joseph DeFelice and James Tini
Republicans Chris Quinn, Norman Janowitz and Meg O'Rlly
Republicans are looking for a fourth candidate
Democrats fourth candidate is Bonnie Chaiken - a GOP turncoat. As soon as Suozzi won the election, after a very long career in the GOP county attorney's office, she fled like a wounded banchee over to the democrats who are now running her for district court judge.
