I dont think so. The republicans will never have a shot. And no im not some Democrat, im actually a lifelong embarrased TOH repub. Im still shaking my head over them running Tracy Edwards, and Rich McGrath was another disgrace as well. Actually for the first time, im quite happy with the way town government is running under the Dems. If it aint broke dont fix it. I would much rather have our party cleaned up and put someone in office for the right reasons than to just put anyone in there because theyre title says republican. The republicans in Huntington have disgraced myself and wont see another dime or vote from me for a long time.

Since I have been in Huntington, I have watched the party self-distruct. The Bees have become such a presence with the result the party has a reputation of bng self-serving schemes and an unresponsive leadership. They have been posionous and vindictive sterngthening the perception in the public. The party is not trusted to do what is in the best interest of the party or of the community. Amazingly the democrats have avoided that label. It has become so believed that it is the most singly cited reason for republicans losing in Huntington. This leadership has now put all its chits with Tinari taking over the Conservative party, without any thought that he may not be the only route. It seems almost too late to mend this fence. If the Republicans want to win, we need some Ortho to spray on the nest.

2008 refers to what the party will look like then in Huntington. I am trying to identify (without success) who the little-known up and comers are today who will be key figures four years out.

Binder for supervisor idea is banking on the republican vote and the jewish vote (usually Dems) putting him over the top. It ain't gonna happen. If he is the current Park Ave darling he is doomed. Everything Tony and co. touched in the last couple of years has gone awry. As far as I can tell thr organization is scattering, or conspiring in various factions against Tony; while at the same time going broke.

Binder's last fundraiser was some spectacle no?

I guess at this point it's easier to identify who is not the future of the party. If binder stays married to Tony, then he tops the list. Tony R. seems to think she has a lot of power but I think she is backed by paper proxies. Any one heard from the Blacks? They are laying low and I suspect rebuilding thr support quietly. They ticked off ALOT of people by thr behavior and attitudes (and Bonnie's relentless finger pointing as to why she lost), so I don't know if they will be power brokers any time soon. Garfinkle is a product of Tony and Zucky. They go, he goes five minutes later.

Too many egos and not enough patronage to go around, so for most of the old timers its all about getting or keeping some useless family members in a job by selling out.

Too bad you feel that way. Political patronage has become a way of life in many political organizations (to the victor, belongs the spoils.....). Sometimes patronage can be abused and other times often miscontrued. I don't believe for a minute that all Huntington Republicans are bad people, or only interested in patronage, nor do I believe that ou best days are behind us. There is a lot that can be done if people work together, for the common good. Building a strong, dynamic, pro-growth Republican organization is something all Republicans should work to achieve.
