Embattled Family Court Judge Ettore Simeone will not seek re-election and has declined the nomination of both his own Conservative Party and the Republican Party.
Simeone's declinations were delivered shortly before 2 p.m. Monday to the Suffolk Board of Elections in Yaphank by Richard Johannesen, Brookhaven Conservative chairman, who notarized the documents.
Simeone was censured two years ago by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, for failing to disclose his romantic relationship with a woman, now his wife, who formally appeared repeatedly in his courtroom.
He is also the subject of a new commission complaint about fundraising. Babylon town board member Lindsay Henry said Simeone tried to use his influence to move his mother to the head of a waiting list for subsidized housing.
