Brookhaven has a surplus that is why there will be no tax increase this year.Far from Bankrupt it is true the supervisor and the council have to watch how they spend money.

if you really believe there is no increase in taxes, you sure have your head in the sand.
take a look at the garbage district, the highway ( which the town board ok's), streetlighting ( abusive spending, not just used for lites), fire districts, ambulance districts, then say there is no raise in taxes, they (the town board ) just raises it in other ways.

Hey please get your facts straight the town of brookhaven does not set fire district budgets. It is the Board of Fire Commissioners. Such as Billy Thief I'm sorry I meant Billy Theis at Terryville who is not only one of La Valle party throwing, false job working cronies but also a fire district commissioner who has no accountability in is fire house let along streetlighting which he once ran after pissing of Pat Strebel.

Problem is TFF's cant say anything about it, not only is Theiss a member of TFD he is a commissioner too, so he has full reign on any district property...However the local residents,(taxpayers) can make calls to town hall asking why is he at Firehouse and not at work.
