View Full Version : Time To Take A Stand In Nassau
Disgruntled GOP

We must establish a "Republicans for Reform " party. Only way its gonna happen. Fat Joe is going nowhere, and bringing our party with him.

It is time that we take a stand. The Nassau County Republican Party is in a free fall and must be taken back. Each election we lose more and more of our party's greatness (at this point former greatness). it is sad and scary to hear Tom Suozzi, yes Tom Suozzi, say (to paraphase) that Joe Mondello is the best thing that ever happened to him. Change has to come, and it must be at the top. The leadership will not change itself. We must band together and demand change. Are we meek? Are we afraid? Does Joe Mondello exercise such control over all of us that we are paralized to do nothing...NO! All it takes is a start....

All politics bng local, the Democrats in Nassau are the party of smaller more effective government and consolidation.
The Nassau GOP and thr candidates are practically socialist.
Come over to the right side; become a Democrat!!!

Just because we have a big fat bad apple at the top does not mean that we all have to become Democrats. We're not going to go from bad to worse.
What we need is yes, a reform and a new leader. We need to lobby our executive leaders and tell them how upset we are. We need to make ourselves heard.
We need to get together all not just a few and voice our anger to Mondello and tell him we need a new leader or he makes a change for the better. Mondello needs to realize that he's stuck in his old ideas and that the GOP will not get ahead based on the same redundancy. The GOP needs new ideas, new faces and those leaders out there that want bigger things need to realize that the world and humanity is in a constant change and that our party needs to keep up with those changes. We cannot sell the same product time after time. People want new things.

You'll never get reform if you can't change your own prejudices. The local Democrats are no longer "tax and spend", but fiscally prudent. And the voters just said so in a squeaker that should have been a GOP runaway. Even the GOP had to run a "Democratic" candidate to make a change!
You can't remove the enemy from within nor see that the competition has changed. That's why you'll continue to lose.
The Nassau GOP is hosed.

Republicans for Reform already exists, has done three mailings to GOP committeemen urging regime change over the past year and has agitated for change on this board and elsewhere for some time.
We saw this coming a mile away.
We've advocated the position like this:
Reform the Republican Party, Vote Democrat. A good many Republicans followed this advice.
Now it's our time to take the party back from the hacks, but maybe the top bosses need one more good solid push in the most unlikliest of placces in 2005.
To help, ring me up.

Republicans for Reform?

Again, the question is: "Will it ever happen?" Will anyone have the guts to make changes? Who can help? Will it take a D'Amato, Fuschillo, DeGrace? What amazes me is that so many of us (committeemen and women) know that change is needed but will never come because people are AFRAID of Mondello and his crew. Is it that Mondello knows where all the bodies are buried? Is it that he knows the secrets and threatens to divulge them if a revolt were to occur? It is frustrating to see the party lose it grip year after year. Too bad those who should lead this revolt are paralized with fear and concern. As long as people are afraid of Mondello, the party will lose. How much longer until we lose the towns, villages, and judgeships????????????

Frustrated Rep, I sympathize with you. Nothing is going to change. No one cares.

If you have to worry about "where the bodies are buried", then you deserve to lose. What did you do to fear Mondello's possible disclosure?
If you're "clean", then you have nothing to worry about.

us good committeemen and women did nothing wrong, we just need to keep our jobs to feed and school our children and to pay off our mortgages.
I think the Republican party is getting better; the Young Republilcans are just one example of new fresh blood which give us hope for change, no matter how far away it is

I hate to say it, but the YR leadership is simply an extension of Fat Joeys regime. It largely consists of the West End Reps who love Mondello, and think he is the best thing since sliced bread. They are all "yes" men. Its politics as usual with this group. They honestly do not see the downfall of the GOP, and how Mondello is responsible. The GOP needs real reform, not leadership who will simply continue the poor and pathetic leadership of an egotistical and delusional maniac.

As a committeeperson in my local area, I have seen an increase of younger people and many new faces at our meetings.(we are one club that actually still holds meetings -- shame on those clubs that do not)
And I am optimistic that we will gain momentum again soon. OUR MESSAGE is a good message and needs to be heard repeatedly! I work hard for my money (which is not much) and I want more kept in my pocket....the way dems want to spend more and more on government programs takes $$ out of my pocket. I will help those less fortunate myself I do not want hirer taxes from the government to do it for me.
PLEASE MONDELLO - GET OUT SO WE HAVE A CHANCE in future races!

"The way Dems want to spend more and more on Govt. programs"
Have you looked at the kind of money George Bush has been spending?
I dont know about you, but I never met a Republican who didnt like spending money. Especially in Nassau!

Proud Dem I think what innocent means is all the social programs and excessive bonding dems love....which directly hits our pocketbooks.
As for Bush, he is spending $$ to protect our butts! Do you remember 9/11 - don't forget it.... he can spend whatever he wants to make sure that kind of horror never hits our homeland again!
Bush is doing NADA to protect us from another 9/11. He will seal the borders anywhere around the globe but refuses to do so in his own country. We have millions of illegals running around this country and we have no idea who they are. Border Patrol suffers from a lack of resources and support, and our government continues to reward illegals through the granting of educational, license, and government program incentives. And our immigration laws have no teeth to them, if they are ever enforced in the first place. Bush is doing this to protect us. PLEASE!!! The frightening part about this comment is that you actually believe this! Open your eyes. Some free advice coming from a fellow Rep.

It is the GOP that loves social programs and excessive bonding, not the Democrats. Look at the GOP senate and assembly votes last year to borrow and spend. ther raise taxes or cut. Most democrats recently have preferred to cut.
And GW is spending for his cronies, not our safety. Halliburton and Bechtel get bilion dollar sweetheart deals while veterans' benefits are cut. That's patriotic???
Don't buy the b*llsh*t and think for once.

This thread was about the problems of the Republican Party in Nassau County. Let's not lose track of that people. Looks like some hijacking of the thread....
