Losquadro is a Big Liberal Spender

Dan Losquadro, a first time candidate running on the Republican and Conservative lines, has said several things that have puzzled me and caused me to back his opponent, Andy Tarantino.

Here's what Losquadro has said:

1. In his Suffolk Life questionnaire, he answered that county employees' salary increases should NOT be limited to the rate of inflation. Tarantino, like Romaine, correctly answered that runaway spending should not be allowed to continue.

2. Losquadro has sent out mailings touting the creation of a office in the county government -- the so-called "Inspector General's Office". Why do we need to through money into an office to make sure that other offices are not misusing public funds!? Stop the insanity and hire fiscally responsible people and you won't need to babysit them. Besides, there's already the District Attorney's Office in place to protect against fraud and corruption.

3. Tarantino has said he will not use taxpayer money for his transportation to work. Losquadro says he expects a county car. Aren't these legislators getting paid enough already (over $70,000 for a part time job?). Besides, shouldn't Losquadro be able to get a good car lease deal somewhere... ooops!

Seriously, it baffles me that this guy can put "Conservative" on his campaign literature and go around saying these sorts of things. Can someone explain to me how we got stuck with Losquadro to run as Haley's replacement?

Maybe Haley can get back in the race as a write-in. If not, Tarantino seems like the best alternative.

I'm just passing by, but feel I must set the record straight.

I invite anyone to put Danny Losquadro up against Tarantino in a debate. Like a bug on a windshield, Danny gets squashed. There is no comparison in demeanor, expressed intelligence, and a grasp on the issues.

Tarantino is much more seasoned, and a much better public speaker.

That bng said, I do agree that Tarantino comes off a bit pompous. He isn't really pompous, but you only know that if you take the time to speak to him personally.

Danny-you really need more 200 by 200 foot signs out there! I've seen only about 500 or so! LOL!

Gigi apparently is a Losquadro family member tryiing to stir dirt. That is why this town and County needs to get rid of the 'old gang' like the Losquadros. Tarantino is respected by the judges, and is known for settling his cases, not losing them. Tarantino has served on the Bar association ETHICS Committee for years (not running from scandel like Losquadro's family). As for governing, ask ay teacher or administrator or parent in Longwood, in three years as Board President he has kept taxes low, has cleaned up Board member conduct, has TRIPLED participation by the community, and NOT ONCE has been attached to a personal motive. Not once has he been implicated in any wrongdoing or misuse of his respected positions. As for the attempted GAY BAR association, that is like saying that becuase LOSQUADRO went to school he is smart...the truth is that Losquadro is pitifully inept, and relies on his bng IN BED with this Johannesen guy.. you only need to watch the Channel 12 debate, or speak to anyone who attended the other public debates. Get real GiGi, if you support your man, use his record (not criminal of course), don't attack an upstanding and communty devoted person like Tarantino.

I understand that the only person for Losquadro that appeared at BOTH debates was Losquadro's family member. Becuase Losquadro lost both, no wonder you feel like Tarantino is an A** (how cute).
You demonstrated your and Danny's desperation that he cannot prevail on issues, but must call Tarantino names. Geez....Losaquadro thinks he is a civic activist because he JOINDED three civic associations in the last 12 months. Tarantino has been lobbying in Albany for our schools, meeting with State Agencies about our roads, giving diplomas to Veterans, and so much more.
If Tarantino continues his fighting for us in the Legislature, then I will be proud to have such an A** respresent us.

If he feels he should hide it and he's ashamed, then what else is he ashamed of and hiding? It doesn't make him a bad person, just not a "family" man. Andrew Tarantino has my vote! I have worked with him thru the school district and am activally campaigning for him.
His sexual preferences whatever they may be is not the issue and should not be the issue, its what he brings to to the table as a candidate, and from the work he has done with the Longwood School District, He is a fresh new voice that will be heard in the horseshoe come January.

I think it is admirable that someone would choose not to dignify your bigoted question with a response.

If someone were divorced, would that matter? Would that make him a bad "family" man? And what effect would that have on his ability to legislate?

I thought 0000000000 Haley was a great legislator, regardless of the fact that he was a divorcee (several times over). It didn't matter to me because that's his personal life. What matters are personal integrity and honesty.

Unfortunately, our party ran a candidate with questionable integrity and no record of community involvement. Now his supporters are attempting to smear Tarantino -- how desperate they must be.

Losquadro's "accomplishments" to date:

- born in Shoreham
- bought a house in Shoreham D">
- wants to raise family in Shoreham
- works in Suffolk County
- is heterosexual

What's not to love? Oh, and let's not forget today's Suffolk Life quote: "I truly know I have a really strong understanding on the issues and concerns of the people in my district."

But bng gay is part of who he is and will be a determining factor in how I vote. Not one person on this post denied it. Interesting. If a judge were gay, wouldn't you want to know? Losquadro was rehearsed, and could not answer outside his canned script. Tarantino did not refer to one note. The man has been so dedicated to his community, and so involved, he did not need notes. As for arrogance, we should all be angered that any party would have put up a candidate like Losquadro whose opinion that he is the best is because he lives here. Geez man.... First....it is an insult that you would defame the name of GiGi. She was one of our Republican supervisors who recently passed away. GiGi never would have condoned nor stood up for your postings. She had a heart as big as the sun, and as warm.
Second...you failed to take into consideration with your attempts that Tarantino has done so much in his community that sexuality, while in your mind, is in no one elses. No one cares. Read his literature gal...he has been working with the schools, lowering taxes, giving diplomas to veterans, meeting with DOT about road design, going to civic meetings, meeting planning officials about parks, lobbying in Albany, reading to students, going to PTA meetings, chairing school committees, and more. Apparently the hundreds, or thouands, of persons Tarantino has touched or worked with even considered or cared about the garbage you try to raise. It matters to me and others I know. Since I don't live in his school district, I don't know if he's done good. That's not what I've heard. I said that Losquadro is not my candidate. I don't like him ther. But what I know & what I've heard about Tarantino is not good. And your claims of how much he's done in his community is just a little over the top. I don't think that if Tarantino comes out of the closet (or any other candidate for that matter) will hurt or help significantly. I don't think it's a "dirty secret". It would mean to me that he is even more liberal than he claims. That would make a difference to me. He may vote for certain issues a certain way (more government programs, not less).
