Is there any reason that Charles O'Shea was by himself at the Massapequa Park train station, handing out literature and repeating "Re-elect Charlie O'Shea" over and over again?

a) Why was he alone? b) Does he always speak in the 3rd person? c) Shouldn't he have bagged the idea of handing out this literature himself if his cronies didn't show?

And, he was doing this about 10 feet from a newstand displaying Newsday's blaring headline concerning the new tax bills that have been recved.

I thought it was a great idea for me to campaign in a senior citizen center on my 72nd birthday, so I think it's an even better idea for Charlie to campaign at Holy Rood Cemetary on Election Day. Gotta get that GOP vote out Mr. Cairo!

be at the train... I have no free time to go see him in his office, so if he wants to get up at 5:30 and talk directly to me/us with no "handlers" or cronies, more power to him!

They should ALL come to the train stations on thier own and see us taxpayers face to face!

O'Shea goes into this election without the backing of one sign in Nassau County that has his name on it and a republican legislator, O'Shea has never looked for republican help and has been his own candidate with his own thought process, to do the best for Nassau County residents, and is , by far, the best republican on the ticket. If Levinson is trying to get his name out there for his DA run a solid trouncing at the hands of O'Shea should really move him to the top of the list. The Democratic wave is about to come to shore. Wake up republicans and ride the wave that is O'Shea.

So much for those GOP commercials. Without the Zapson upset we Gopers continue to slide in Nassau. New leadership is required,... Grady Little is available....could he do any worse?

This handsome couple didn't come to work today. I wonder what they were doing, and with whom?

Lots of hacks running for the doors today. Resume preparation was also much in vogue. Supervisors were too panicked to supervise, and of course the counter workers were again overloaded.

Thanks for your help guys. We rank and file appreciate it, but then again, our jobs are safe.

Charlie and Pat were in today. Lots of huddling behind closed doors. Publicly, Charlie and his minion are claiming that absentees will put him over the top, but no one believes them.

There are rumors that one of Charlie's key people has accepted a new job at the Medical Center (The Nassau County Home for Aging Hacks) and that act of foresight really ticked Charlie off.

What time do you leave work that you are able to make it to your parking spot, negotiate traffic, boot up your PC, compose your thoughts (I'm assuming there) and type up a posting--all before 5:53PM?

No CO today. Heard he was heading South. Big Question is will he be back. No VM today. Heard he is planning to fall back on civil service protection. OK, VM welcome back. Pay your dues. PS in a real bad mood today. I wonder why. Could it be that there's no such thing as unbridled loyalty anymore. I didn't see CF today. Could he be on vacation with CO. Funny thought? Well next week is another week, and it will be even better than this one if the recount fails.

Tough Love - If I told you where I live it would drive PS nuts trying to figure out who I am, but she would probably be able to do it. Suffice to say, I leave the Floor no earlier than my scheduled time to depart. I walk down the stairs to avoid the line at the elevator. I walk out the back door to my car which is parked less than 200 yards from the door, and drive 15 minutes to my home. Upon arriving at Home, I pour myself a glass of wine, read my mail and sit down at my computer. I could probably post earlier than 5.53.

Well, I wouldn't want to be VM, civil service title or otherwise. He has made some enemies. Lucky for him, Harvey is a decent human bng and no where near as nasty and vindictive as CO and PS are. VM should be fine. Unlike the unfortunate, excellent workers who were driven from the Department by the power crazed PS and the oblivious and unfeeling CO.

Any truth to the rumor that some of the banished will be returning to help out the new administration? Would be refreshing to see these vets working together in the Dept. with Harvey and making the office a normal place to work again.

sometimes..good does win out over evil. I definitely believe that what goes around..etc.

Next, God willing, a truly miserable person, Karen Murphy, is the next to be sent packing. 2005 can't come any sooner.

Do you think that the Democrats will run someone worthwhile for County Clerk in 2005? Please, no more Sharon Comissiong types who don't bother to campaign. Personally, I would welcome a competitive race for County Clerk, as would many.

What's so special about Pat Sasso not showing up for work? She always ther comes in late after going shopping or not at all. She has done this in every department she worked in before she was thrown out.
How about her old man big Lou has been around or is he already sniffing around for a new butt to start kissing up to with his big promises of raising big dollars from his crook friends.

Board of Election sourses tell me that Charlie is picking up a LOT of votes from the absentee voters. Democrats at the BOE have notified Jay Jacobs that O'Shea might actually WIN in the recount! Stay tuned to a story you wont read about in NEWSDAY.

Funny I have only heard this rumor from the hackiest of hacks.

If O'Shea were to pick up any significant votes, it would have come from an immediate recanvassing of the voting machines. That did not happen.

For O'Shea to win he would have needed to pick up at l 70% of the absentee ballots. Highly unlikely. Rarely, if ever, do the absentee ballots vary much from the election night results.

If O'Shea did pull out more than the necessary 70%, I would be highly suspicious.
