The truth is, abortion will NEVER be made illegal. However the republican party will continue to take the support(money and votes) of the pro-lifers and give them nothing in return. Pro-lifers, you have been duped by the republican party. Roe vs. Wade struck down state laws prohiiting abortion. What if congress passed a federal law prohibiting abortion and the president signed it? The pro-choice community would challenge the federal law for constitutionality and it would end up back in court. Since the house, senate and white house is republican, that could theoritically happen. But it won't because republicans don't wan't abortion illegal.

You are right. But right now abortion is legal. If Republicans were REALLY a pro-life party they could make it illegal at the federal level and let the pro-choicers challenge it in court. THAT COULD BE DONE RIGHT NOW. But the republicans don't want to outlaw abortion. (because if they wanted to, they could) Even if it were shot down in court, it would show thr pro-life supporters that they are truly a pro-life party.
