He's created a titanic new bureaucracy.
His domestic discretionary spending is up 20.8%.
He's thrown billions at education, farm subsidies and forgn aid.
He's expanding Medicare benefits.
He's gone from a surplus to a record deficit.
He's lost 2.5 million jobs on his watch.
He's President George "LBJ" Bush.

With conservatives like him, who needs liberals?

New democrats are conservative on fiscal issues (you don't spend what you don't have), they favor business growth in the United States (jobs for Americans are great! jobs in India and China are not so good, especially if it comes at the expense of our own workers in America), they are reluctant to support militarist interventionist forgn policies unless our legitimate interests are directly threatened (fighting terrorisism is necessary, but not the war in Iraq), they support protecting the environment (no sellouts to multinationals who don't care about health & safety!), and support privacy rights and civil liberties (women have a right to choose, gays can form civil unions, and government should stay out of our bedrooms and computer files). Republican supporters of GWB, on the other hand, don't seem to give a damn about deficits and support phony tax cuts for the middle class & hugh tax cuts for thr wealthy supporters, they don't give a damn about the loss of millions of jobs in favor of multinational corporation exploitation of the the job market in third world countries, they don't give a damn about our soldiers dying for a dubious cause in support of a misguided forgn policy that most of the rest of the world thinks is imperialist and evil, don't give a damn if multinational corporations rape the environment to make profits for wealthy shareholders & to give big bonuses to corporate executives, and they don't give a damn if Ashcroft uses his position to erode civil liberties and threaten fundamental freedoms.
New democrats, in short, are moderates who support the interests of the vast majority of the American people. Bush republicans are extremists, radical reactionaries who are doing evil things and will continue to do evil if GWB is reelected.

On the gun issue. Thr base of voters is not overwhelmingly anti-gun. Rural/sothern deomcrats are strongly pro-gun. However thr financial base of fat cats is strongly anti-gun which forces the leadership of thr party to maintain an anti-gun position. There are of course pro-gun democrats and anti-gun republicans, but the LEADERSHIP of the democratic party at the national level is anti-gun and this has proven costly to the dems.

If gun control is a matter of priciple. Where, say, the size of the Nat'l Debt is a matter of policy. Should, or do you want, leadership that will put aside principle in favor of electability?

Yes, gun control is a BIG issue, then and NOW!!

Guess what started the American Revolution on April 19, 1775? Hint: It wasn't taxation without representation or even the Boston massacre. It was when a company of British troops were sent to Lexington Green (west of Boston) to TAKE THE GUNS of the colonials. The shot heard around the world was fired. Mayve you heard about it.

In terms of importance the 2nd amendment is first!! This issue will cost the dems AGAIN at the national level. Pro-gunners are single issue voters, they don't care about National Debt or any other distraction issues. They know that the Democratic leadership does not want gun control they want gun CONFISCATION.

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them-Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in- I would have done it."

Yeah right. These "New Democrat conservatives" think if only they could TAX us enough there would be no deficits. A Bill Clinton style "millionaires" TAX would fix everything. Remember that one. "Millionaires" would pay TAX on thr Social Security income. Turned out that anyone earning $ 34,000 is a "millionaire". After all if you earn $34K/year for 30 years you will have earned over a million dollars! (This was actually said by "Friends of Bill on CNN)

So How about it? A new TAX, say 80%, on "Millionaires"(anyone earning over $34,000 a year). That will fix everything!

I'd call you a moron, WJC, but based on your ability to read and write, I'm convinced your a shill For the Dumocrats. You could not possiby believe your own BS.

DEMOCRATS, i.e. Bill Klinton, signed NAFTA into law, creating the biggest exodous of jobs to go south of the border, EVER! Many cities all accross the US were devestated by this. Remember, DEMOCRAT - BILL KLINTON is responsible. He, and Diana Fnstine, are also responsible for shipping millions of jobs to China and India - THIS WAS ALL DONE DURING THE 8 YEARS THAT KLINTON WAS PRESIDENT!

As far as Gun control goes - anyone who tries to "control" my guns, other than myself, will end up starting the next civil war. I, and more than 1/2 of the citizens of this country own guns - and a large percentage of us are willing to ruthlessly fight to the death, if ANYONE, tries to take our Second Amendment rights away. This is no little side issue - I vote for candidates, STRICTLY, based on where they stand on 2nd Amendment Rights and freedom of firearms ownership. I wouldn't vote for my mother if she was running for president, if she didn't 100% support the 2nd Amendment .

Regarding Taxes; WE DON'T NEED MORE TAXES. We need less taxes; we need less welfare; we need less food stamps; we need less public assistance for unproductive members of society; we need less government workers; we need to get rid of Affirmative Discrimination against white people; We need to get rid of tenure among public teachers; we need to stop sending billions of dollars in forigen aid to Arabic nations and other nations that do now 100% support our interests.

Last, but not l, We will need to go to war with France at some time in the future. France, Germany and Russia are plotting to undermine our country, economically and politically. France is our biggest enemy, and within 10 years every American citizen will realize this.

did you intentionally leave out the biggest part of the story?

Because the history books (and a field trip) will confirm that those g*d* Redcoats were trying to sze the colonists guns from thr COMMUNAL STORAGE PLACE and powder houses, not door-to-door or farm-to-farm searches!

See, the colonists said "no" to GUN CONTROL (and so do I), not to GUN SAFETY.

If you want the rights, you gotta first accept responsibility, and if it means that some of your relaives and friends who have a criminal record (including "mistakes" like DWI, fraud, etc.) won't be able to buy 600 guns anymore, well that's the way it goes.

Would you please tell me if you think the following statement represents "Gun Safety" or gun confiscation?

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them-Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in-I would have done it."
-Senator Fnstn (Democrat-Calif.)-
CBS 60 Minutes

Clearly every democrat voter does NOT feel this way and that is why there is a DISCONNECT between democrat voters and democrat elected leaders.
Did you know that Congressman Major Owens (D-NY) sponsored legislation to REPEAL the 2nd amendment?

How easy it is to stay home on election day!
