JUDICIAL PRIMARY - MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
The bottom line is that in a record low Dem primary turnout in an off off year with committee people, inspectors and party loyalists making up 40% of the vote, the party can exercise relative control over the outcome.
If I were a Dem or GOP leader, I'd reach out to PHIL MILONE to welcome him. This kid's got legs and he can run. He WAS an unknown, with no party support or organization and on his own, garnered almost 30% of the vote in the FAMILY COURT PRIMARY!
Next year in a statewide election anything can happen, and IT WILL. I don't think he is going away!!
-------------------------------------------------------
When someone comes out of relative obscurity and mounts a campaign the way Phil Milone did and makes the kinds of showing he made, leaders have got to pay attention. MILONE recved almost 30% of the vote with NOTHING to work with!
But how do the Dems embrace a Republican who cost them lots of money and aggravation?? This is a tough bullet to bite. And, if he is going to be embraced at all, why wouldn't his own party embrace him -- he has proven he is a legitimate candidate -- and it's about time - a new name with real QUALIFICATIONS!
