WHY DON'T NEW C/O'S EVER MIND THIER OWN BUSINESS ?

It amazes me how often I hear the brandy new C/O's griping about what the SCPD, the Park Police, the Deps, Probation, etc. are getting and how we should be doing that. We are Correction Officers - deal with it. The new guys should just keep thier mouths shut at this point, you don't know enough to talk about anything at all. We are never going to get anything with the current admin. The Deps backed him at thier own peril and WON. We backed the loser - thanks to Vito, and Striper Murphy, so we don't deserve anything. I'm just glad all he did was cut the OT down, if Demarco was vindictive he could have done a sh!tload more to us and frankly I'm surprised he didn't. But to come out and say we should be getting some kind of good jobs is stupid and won't happen. I say get in line behind the Deps, (where everyone says we belong anyway), and take what we can get. Then next time an election comes up our union and all of us should just stay the F*CK out of it. At very l we won't lose again! In the meantime stop crying about what we aren't getting - WE LOST !

im a new guy here and to be honest, im lookung foward to the next 20 years at MY job. not complaining about someone elses.
you are the guy saying you will leave when you get an incentive, and you were probably the new guy looking for incentiveswhen you first go there. me,me,me. bite me guy.

i took the job knowing what i was getting (without incentives) and going home at the end of the day.

Been here quite a few years myself and I have had so far a good life. My spouse has never worked and we have everything we need in life and then some. I was new once myself and never ever remember crying about what any other law enforcement agency had other then a 20 year bill (which we still dont have). The new guys are wonderful. Yes there are some that we might think are a bit loose in the head at times but, there were many that started before me and with me that might be a bit loose in the head and complain about everything but that is just a select few. The majority of c /o's dont complain. They come to work everyday and do thr job. These are the ones no one knows half the time as they dont complain. As always with everything all we hear about are the crybabies. Please, ladies and gentlemen lets not throw cheap shots at each other on here as i dont know if you are aware of it but anyone in the world can read this site. It makes us ALL look like children. Lets be nice to each other ok? And remember We ALL were new at one time.

This coming from a Nassau C/O, Your page is just as pathetic as ours. You guys need to get it together just like we need too.Stop the bad mouthing and get it together. Both Nassau and Suffiolk C/O's diserve better and we're the only ones that seem to know it. We need to come together and get the message out . Stop the rhetoric, don't make yourselves look bad by posting childish messages. Thanks for supporting us and we will be there to support you. C/O's all throughout the state ( and country) need to make it clear that we are large in numbers and once it all comes together we too can be a driving political force. It's time to come together with our issues and needs.

Hey! The worst thing anyone can do on any of these boards is put each other down. Both Nassau and Sufolk C/O's need to get into politics. Lets face it men and women we need the support of the politicians. The bottom line is that they are the ones who make things happen. It really sucks but realize one thing the cops get thrs because they have backing and binding arbitration also helps. The public also sees them, we are the ones who go unnoticed and deal with the criminals in large numbers daily. These are just some of the issues that a corrections officer deals with nationwide. It's time for a strong protest for all correction officers to be heard.
