Petition Joe

Hello fellow Nassau Republicans:
Any of you experiencing the same thing I am in the Meadow/Salisbury area - more door slammers and refusals than ever before. They just tell me that it's nothing personal, but they don't want to sign any more. I thought two years ago was bad, but this is worse. They all tell me the same thing, the party stinks. They want nothing to do with us any more.
It is very discouraging, I'm hanging it up they can take it or leave it.
Anyone getting the same reaction here or elsewhere?

I'm a NH Republican and the response here is better than it has been in years. The NH Republican organization is on the upswing.
Much dissatisfaction w/ the Dems and thr arrogant 1-party rule.

The NH Republican organization is spinning its wheels town-wide. You must be getting petitions signed in NHP or Albertson by relatives.
No one is fed up with one-party arrogant rule. Witness the ToH. People only care about taxes and services. If they feel the party in power taxes too much and doesn't deliver on services, then they get voted out. If not, status quo continues.
The only thing the NH Republicans get this year is one council seat. The only wildcard is whether or not Democratic infighting over districts and other issues will split the party giving the GOP an advantage.
If the Democrats keep it together, the GOP loses big.

The GOP legislative candidate from this area may fall short of the minimum number of signatures necessary to qualify for the ballot. This would be a first.
The party is over!

I have been collecting signatures in NHP this past week and have found it very easy. To be honest with you, I have not seen the people so friendly in years. I have had no problems with getting people to sign. They have hung up thr phone, interrupted thr meals ect.. People have been very friendly and talkative. Many have made a point to make sure they are signing for republicans.
If this is any sign of things to come, this is going to be a great year for the GOP.

With all due respect to my fellow NH Republican, what good is it to do well in NH but lose the TOH? And, the last time the Chairman sent us to walk in your town we were there all alone -- there is no NH committee to speak of. Here on Nassau Blvd the going is slow -- people are fed up!

There is plenty of room for Republican Committeeman laid off by the County in The Town of Hempstead. (We have more than 250 committeepeople on our payroll now) We will take every single loyal Republican Committeeperson and give the a good job. So walk those petitions, throw your chest out, and don't worry about layoffs.
This would be a test then

Committee people from ther party should NOT have county jobs, period! It is a complete conflict of interest.
So to all those Republican committee people who helped ruin the County and are now still working for the county (hoping the new administration fails) please go to the Town of Hempstead. Please! GO!

NHP has always been a strong GOP area, where with few exceptions, people sign ptions easily. However, I am not getting the same response in Valley Stream/Franklin Square (and this is Cairoland). . . People are definitely not as loyal as they once were. . . and the Suffolk GOP problems are going to come across the border as well. . . The GOP HAS to hold this year or we will be in big trouble.

As a committeeguy with 15 years experience in the TOH, although not as difficult as it was 2 years ago and last year, people are still not all that excited about signing. A lot sign for me because I am the regular guy who comes around every year, but I am getting grumbling I never got, new people simply refuse and it is getting tougher. I'm getting to old for this @#%$ and the young committee people will not put up with the nonsense. I hate to say it or see it, but the Nassau GOP's great days are quickly coming to an end...

I am one of those young committeeman and agree fully with your statement.
Geez... Why is that .....

I just finished my petitions last night. This was the easiest year I have every had. It took me about 4 hours over 4 days to get 63 signatures.
Now I will be off to get some Independent signatures.
Many people that I spoke with are not happy with Mr. Suozzi, and I am happy to fuel the fire. They seemed proud to be republican and happy to do thr part.

In my neck of the woods, the local GOP committeeperson had problems getting signatures. Perhaps because he doesn't seem to live in the ED (he came and went via car), he looked befuddled walking around with his clipboard and voter book.
In an hour, he got two signatures. He said this was a tough year. And this is a heavily Republican ED. Not everyone's happy with Suozzi. More are unhappy with the GOP.
Here, I think we're fed up with everyone. In Repward's case, he got lucky or his area is GOP loyal to the point of stupidity (the Dems have the same kind of areas).

If you're carrying Indy petitions supplied by Peragine, you are bng scammed by your own Chairman; Peragine can not issue a Wilson-Pakula and Mondello knows it. Mondello is pulling a scam on his own people and will play stupid later on. . . Nassau GOP Committeepeople are bng used as shills in this game. . . Save this post for future reference. You'll see.

Bizzaro New York.....Independence Party, RTL Party, Conservative Party, WFP Party, and other stupid little nothings. What an embarrassment!
Follow the lead of every other state in the nation and restrict candidates from appearing on the ballot under more than one party line.
That will put an end to this nonsense.

FORMER REPUBLICAN
07-02-2003, 04:20 PM
I am a former Republican of 19 years. The forces of the hard left have taken over the party. The party left me, I did not leave the party. When you run so far to the left, i there is no need for the now defunct Liberal party.
Please be honest. Look at the following people:
George Pataki
Mike Balboni
Mike Blumberg
Peter Schmidt
WHICH ONE IS A REPUBLICAN? WHO STANDS FOR LIMITED GOVERNMENT, TAX CUTS, NEW IDEAS, APPEALS TO INDIVIDUALS NOT GROUPS, WHO KEEPS THR PROMISES, DOES NOT SUPPORT LEGISLATING IMMORALITY(HOMOSEXUAL RIGHTS, HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE), ETC?
If you can honestly say they are Republicans not RINO'
S, you are living in a dream. Join the Conservative party.
Joe Mondello has broken all of his promises. I guess it depends on what the meaning of is, is?
