I had a thought regarding taxes in this country.
I wonder why no one has attempted to enact legislation barring corporations who use overseas tax shelters from getting lucrative government contracts.
Haliburton, Worldcomm, Enron, and many many more companies that are buddy-buddy with this administration have made billions and billions from America's more recent conflicts (Enron and Halliburton made a TON rebuilding Kuwait after the first Gulf War), and they don't seem to contribute much to this economy.
So basically, the tax burden is left to those who aren't able to hire a team of accountants to avoid paying taxes. And what does it say about our government's respect for thr own rules when both the president AND vice president use tax shelters?
Do you think this legislation would be a good idea? Your company is not allowed to profit from America's actions, if that company doesn't pay taxes.
