View Full Version : AN OPEN LETTER TO TOM SUOZZI

county worker 2006

Sir, I am a county worker, employed for over twenty years. I have been without a contract for well over 2 years. I do not make your salary, nor the salary of a law enforcement officer. I can barely make ends meet, while others are sitting fat and confortable. I have kept an open face regarding your campaign. Now that it is over, why will you not address the issues of county workers, who work 360 days a year, no holidays off. Would it kill you to tie all those loose ends you left? I remember how friendly you were, when you were running for county exec. How soon you have forgotten.

I have seen in my years as a C.O. ...... starting pay go from the mid 30's to 25k a year...Graded salary plan go from 11 to 15 yrs and back down... pink slip notices in 1992.. 10% deferment of o/t pay for 3 yrs..... no contract for 4yrs... we had to walk out to get one.... lag payroll (illegally done) and now another 2yrs without a contract.....we even had officers given raises only to have them pay it back to the county....We shouldn't settle for any zero's (full retro) and don't even think of negotiating the lag money away...We need real percentage raises 12 month increments not 18 months(as done in the past) interest on the lag money and more available sick time for security officers....dealing with the BS from admin and inmates warrants more time off. Remember no one in county politics is your friend......... Unless your the Sheriff, DUS or Chief Of Staff. They too will fall .. wait and see!

Pigs at the trough in Nassau County applies more to the Democrats
than Republicans.

At least Kate Murray keeps a tight ship, while Suozzi has loose morals such as honesty and integrity.

GOING TO WORK FOR NASSAU COUNTY WAS THE WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE.

When Suozzi finishes his crash and burn, Nassau will go back to normal. Stick it out.....

who is on first

A huge persentage of patronage Jobs in the County Are held by republicans. Except jobs that require tests like correction officers

Get rid of the patronage jobs..civil service tests for everything. If the job has more responsibility then the pay should be higher. Nassau County needs top level mgmt that came from the ranks...not imported. County workers have to also stop the ass kissing and quit doing more for nothing. You only make others look good but hurt yourself and your co-workers. You cut the fat at the top there would be NO MORE TAX INCREASES.

Hey! Tom Souzzi fire the Sheriff, Rogers and Sposato....... Souzzi,,, do you know that poor management also means to much staff.... The jail has 15 to 20 additional officers on each tour...The O/T maybe down but your paying officers to do nothing.... I hope the Sheriff and his flunkies haven't been lying to you! Check it out...We at the jail know that Adolpf Reilly doesn't want this to get out......He always wants reports as long as it doesn't have anything in it that makes him look bad....

Reilly's hiring fifty more in Oct. Lets see, paying people to do nothing just to make it seem like hes cutting overtime. Brilliant, fiscal irresponsibility to the max. After lock-down the bosses don't know what to do with these people. Corporals on overtime, C.O.'s doing nothing. Can't figure out this strategy.Duh, you think maybe a few Corporal promotions are in order. What a waste of taxpayer dollars. Wait a minute, I'm a taxpayer, now I'm really pissed.

What does Reilly care. He lives in Suffolk.

Suozzi step down!
