Again, LB Councilman, Jim Hennessy, shoots-off his mouth without doing his homework. As a teacher he should know better, and practice that which he preaches to his students.
It's a typical LB waste of time and money to initiate a Long Beach study to examine the need for another full-time judge in Long Beach City Court. The state Office of Judicial Administration opted for another LB City judge. The state paid for the study, and the state pays the judge's salary-----not the City of Long Beach. LB needed another full-time judge. The state did LB a service!
Hennessy had no standing or legitimate or honest reason for his criticism----except politics. Jim Moriarity, Hennesy's boss, and LB Republican leader, would have loved to have a Republican oriented judge appointed. It would have given Moriarity "Brownie Points" with Mondello. (Remember, Moriarity lost the last election which he shouldn't have.) Moriarity gave Hennessy his orders. Hennessy, as usual, obeyed.
