The CSEA Local 830 throws a union picnic ("labor picnic") on 9/10 and for some weird reason, Tom Suozzi's name is directly under the title of the flyer.
What in the world does this picnic have to do with Suozzi? Is it because it's a couple of days before the primary? Is the union leader catering to Suozzi?
First the Suozzi law firm represents us, now we represent Suozzi.
What a joke!!!!

parks worker should check the facts - first: local 830 members want to be able to attend a labor picnic, ask your unit president. second: local 830 has lost (your) money on all prior picnics. third: region 1 supports this event, so go and have a few suds at little cost. fourth: basil patterson - of the law firm you reference- has a son who will be the next lt. governor. check your facts.

It's NOT the CSEA ; labor picnic, it's the Long Island Federation of Labor/County Labor Picnic. Suozzi'z name is on the tickets because the county spent $85,000 to get the thing organized. There will be over 5000 union members there mostly from private unions. Last year CSEA stayed out of it and many members complained about not having a picnic. Region 1 president does support the idea and local 830 said they would ATTEND and subsidize the cost of the ticket (you pay only $3.00) CSEA is paying $10.00.
Now for the posting you left. You are NOT a parks worker, ( parks workers know the real deal beter than anyone) we know that already. You are somebody who has been trying unsuccessfully to tarnish the csea president. You are either an old cronie who was beaten olut of office or some jerk from the other union who is trying depseratly to get off the front pages of this website. Either way, you now look like the fool yolu are.

First of all, my union dues as a park worker most likely goes to your salary so you can spend the time scouring this website and defending the union.
Second, question not answered (or was it). The way I read your response, the "Long Island Federation" took $85,000 to get Suozzi's name pasted on flyers and tickets. I guess there's nothing wrong with that. I wonder what else the union people receive to work for Suozzi and other politicians that shit on the county workers. http://www.longislandfed.org/PicnicFlyer.pdf
Third, as a park worker, I know the real deal involves union people convincing workers not to file out of title grieviences because "I did it once, won and the county took it out on me for the rest of my career." - John Rinaldi. Yes, that is a quote.
I know the real deal involves our union president kissing Jose Lopez's and Richard Murphy's ass on my union dues funded radio show. 30 minutes of softball questions. Great radio. http://www.csea830.org/forms/Radio/Joselopez.mp3
I know the real deal involves Murphy being an asshole and abusive to every "Park Worker" in the system but the union doing nothing about it beacuse what he says what the park workers do "is monumental".
I got more but I'm not getting paid to do nothing like you.
I find it funny that you finish by calling me a fool. I'm sure that's how all you union reps think about the common workers. I know I'm the fool, just like all the union dues paying workers are all fools for sitting around and letting you people decide what's good for us and wasting my money that could be better spent on food or gas.

parks worker should again check the facts: first: 830 local/unit officers don’t receive a salary, never have. (but remember, you are the union.) second: local 830 members have a chance to attend a major labor picnic. big fun for little money - your dues in action. so come to the event and eat and drink for 3 dollars with allegiance to no one except your dues money. no organizational responsibility, no set up, no clean up, no wasting your dues on relations with cushy vendors. (and remember, the current local 830 officers don’t run phone banks, walk door to door, or carry petitions for the current CE, and they don’t take awards from his party at their events as the prior local officers have. (so vote against him when you have a chance.) third: sorry your unit president is a hole. did you run against him? try to take him out? if he gave you an answer you didn’t like, did you go over his head to the local office to ask your question again? (remember, you are the union, get others together who think like you and challenge those you are dissatisfied with, don’t rant anonymously on some republican hack’s website [that’s who 4-4-4-4-4- 4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4- is] also read the cba, out of title is a civil service issue, not a labor management issue.) and who cares about the radio shows or li press advertising, all you should care about is the next contract, and if it falls short, vote out the current local president. at least he is trying something new, so give it a chance. but if it fails, get involved and run against him, or work together with your co-workers to vote him out. (remember, you are the union – you’re responsible to grow a set and step up).

Well said above. Also if you read the post above it it states "The County spent $85,000 to get the thing started", NOT the LI FED. That's why Suozzi's name is on it.
As for the radio show, check the date, Lopez was in office for two weeks. What did you expect him to do to him? The current president is trying to undo years of really bad representation and labor relations. From what I can see he is making some progress, with a long way to go. He spoke to our group and explained the radio show, LI Press and stated that he is trying to educate the public as to what it is all county workers do. He is getting ready for contract negotiations, and I think it's a good idea, since most residents think we're all a waste of their tax dollars.
Hey, if he doesn't deliver a good contract then vote him out. He told us that himself. Otherwise, why complain about somebody who is working hard to make us look better in the public eye. I like the guy, becasue he tells it like it is. Think about the sell outs we had before him. Can you actually say we aren't better represented today than we were under Jane or Tony or even Rita Wallace?
Let's see what happens. Go to the picnic, I'm sure he will be there and you guys should talk to him directly.
I;m a parks worker and I have no problem with the current union, the picnic the radio show or the press. I just hope the union can get us more workers and some promotions. We still have some supervisors who need to get bashed and I'm tired of working with young kids who don't give a crap. We need full time parks workers now. I know they are fighting the cradle of aviation and they got alot of press out of that. They also stopped many of the bs disciplines coming from parks. At least I've seen this president a few times in the last year. I never once saw that woman who acted as presdint before him.
I was at the golf outing last month and gerry gave the parks guys alot of credit for the condition of the course and the park. It made us all look good and I felt good about that. We never get any recognition.

Sounds like an opportune way to campaign for Governor. Is the $85K considered a campaign donation from Nassau County to Suozzi for Governor's camp?
HELLO OUT THERE

FYI
The picnic was Tom Suozzi's idea which started 4 years ago.
More people join every year because the WORKING CLASS people on Long Island have a great time.
All of the money is donated to the picnic, as well as the large amount of prizes to raffle. I have never heard of $85 thousand dollars. It does not cost that much to put on a picnic.
Come by a ticket and have some fun.
C'mon guys how ruthless can we get. The guy is working on 12% of the vote, so do you really beleive this picnic is going to push him into the gov's mansion? Secondly, Suozzi has held this picnic for a few years now.
Don't let your hatred/blindness make you sound desperate and ignorant. As for CSEA, why not? Especially since the union is reimbursing it's members so that it only cost $3.00
Hey, I have a great idea for all those brave posters here who write such venomous material aganst everyone. Here you go.
Purchase a ticket to go the picnic, show up and put a Spitzer button on. Why not, CSEA endorsed Spitzer not Suozzi, but it seems some of you want to be tougher than that. You can walk freely around the picnic wearing a Spitzer for Governor button, and then I would say you are a true tough guy. Writing all the BS on here is shameful and cowardly.

It doesn't cost $120K to get a good public service appointee either but isn't that the average salary Suoz pays his ballooning staffers?

From what I know the $85,000 was paid one time four years ago to secure the contract from all the different vendors. Once the picnic established itself, the money they earn pays for itself. The 85K was some sort of fee and seed mney. Now the picnic makes money.
Not a great host, but it is a great picnic. So go and have fun. You don't have to even talk about politics once you're there. Just chug and slug.

Why shouldn't CSEA not have Suozzi sponser the picnic? They already have told the rank and file to use his father's firm for legal assistance in a mailer. Why hasn't Jerry rebutted that obvious conflict of interest? Because he sleeps with management.
DON'T TRUST CSEA! THEY WILL SELL THE MEMBERSHIP DOWN THE DRAIN !

Why do you local 830 sell outs keep telling the "working class" to "chug and slug" and "have some fun?" Why do I want to get drunk in a public park? Why would I want to get drunk in a public park and pander to the administration's do nothing, butt kissing, connected 20 somethings from Manhattan that make $120K a year just to look important? Why would I want to get drunk in a public park with Jerry and you other sellouts that want to stab us in the back and endorse the CE's law firm?
You people are unbelievable. IUf you can't trust in your union, who can you trust in? I thought Jerry's predicessor Probation Officer Butch was a real piece of work, but at least she didn't tell the rank and file to use the CE's law firm for labor law advice!
We want you to stay home because you're a drunk to begin with. You nay need suozzi's lawfirm to get your sell out butt out of jail. Stay away disgruntled Jane Supporter because we might have to give you a tune-up!
Over 500 tickets were sold pukeboy, so why don't you and your past board of crying losers go to Savannahs again and steal some more money from the few poor slobs who supported you by offering them free drinks for $20, (oh yeah, it was during happy hour where they could have gotten the free drinks by just walking in). It must be tough these days wondering how you were so duped into supportting the biggest loser in CSEA history.
Is that why you erased all the hard drives in the local? Or stole the safe out of the local the day before you were all forced back to work so you could actually earn a living? Why you and the former thief sold out all the Dr.s at NUMC so they could not vote in the election?
I supported Jerry then and even more now. I'm so happy he embarrassed all of you crooked, sellout, ball-less losers. Now I get to watch you work this board for vengeance, but it's not going too well is it scarface? You are truly pitiful and I LOVE it!
Stay away from the picnic, your'e NOT welcomed.

OF COURSE HE'S INVITED! AS LONG AS THEY USE THE LAW FIRM OF CE SUOZZI'S FATHER! SO COME, YOU'LL HAVE FUN, AND DON"T FORGET TO CHUG A LUG!!
From what I remember, wasn't you and the rest of the red queens team of man-slaves who ran around with TOM SUOZZI tee shirts ans signs when CSEA was forced to endorse him by YOU!
The current union board DID NOT endorse him last year, unlike your crooked, spinless group of thieves did.
You can make fun of Jerry's last name (anonymously like the spineless dog you are), but the facts are obvious. This union is for real now and unlike when you and your band of Jane Cheerleaders were in business. I can't wait for the picnic, and I hope you are there. This way you can see what a real union acts like, and how the CSEA membership is sooooooooooooo glad you idiots are back to your jobs.
Have fun beaten jellyfish. Keep in touch OK?

Hey weren't you the guy on Sunday who "had some fun" and chug a lugged in Eisenhower Park until you threw-up all over some local 830 reps? It happened at about 3PM. You dog you.
Wasn't it you he threw up on while you were kissing the red queens butt? Happened about 3:01 pm. I also saw you sneaking under yellow tape so you didn't have to pay the three dollars. Still can't stand to bear the fact that YOU LOST, YOUR OUT, YOU ARE NOTHING!!!!

You must be the "crackhead loser" if you continue to waste your time answering back the Jane D'Mico supporters.
I'm starting to wonder if we voted out one team of morons for another!
