The Libertarian Party candidate for Suffolk County Executive, Chris Garvey, seems to be running on a platform far more supportive of free enterprise and nonintervention of the government into the personal lives of people than the platform of Ed Romaine. There could be a groundswell of support for Garvey from grassroots Republicans who hate the way government is used and abused by elected Republicans. Chris Garvey's message of freedom should appeal to many Republicans and Conservative and, if the Libertarians do a good job of getting thr message across in the campaign, Garvey might pull enough votes away from Romaine to make Steve Levy the winner.

I don't think the Republicans are paying much attention to the Libertarians and Chris Garvey. The Libertarians are percved as probably too weak for the Republicans to pay them any heed. They could be surprised if Garvey does well in the debates against Romaine. The Libertarians are too principled and idealistic to engage in the crossendorsement game like the Independence and Working Family parties anyway for the Republicans to try to deal with them.
